From chrome yellow to Bright Atlantic Blue that is. Let me begin by telling you from the start of this truck. I used to be a chevy owner untill my 1989(generation 1989 to 1998 body style) chevy 1500 started to come apart after replaceing many parts i decided it was time to move on, but I did not have a lot of money and i was looking for a project. I wanted something parts were easy to find and the aftermarket offered alot. when i came across this 2002 ford ranger edge that had a 4.0 SOHC and an auto(easy to trail ride). It needed some word and paint was a definite, but i thought if i could get a good deal it would be a good start. I found this at a small family owned dealership not on the lot but sitting out back. After doing some reseach and finding the asking price. KBB listed it at 9800 at good condition and they wanted 8000 if they painted it and I got it for 6000 with a gallon of paint. soon after i did some minor body work to a rear quarter used a minimun amound of my paint set it in my bed (so i would not get yellow paint off the side of the can in my interior) and forgot about it. well i was driving to a friends and a bar in my bed puctured a hole in the side of the can coating about a quarter of my bedliner my rear bumper, hitch, license plate and lights. So the painting was put on hold. I then decided to install my used rcd lift bought from seed60 here at RF. after installation of that and 35 inch bfgs. I decided it was time to throw it in a buddys garage and get some paint on it. now i had to decide a color. Black rangers are awesome but hard to keep clean. White rangers are clean but not with caked on mud. didnt want a flashy color such as red and the yellow was to much attention, however blue is my favorite color and is in between. I just had to decide dark or light mettalic or pearl. I also wanted to keep it an origional ford color. So I found the perfect color for my needs. BRIGHT ATLANTIC BLUE this is an original for color used mostly in the late 90s early 2000s famous on the cobras. This paint contains 1qt.pearl abd 5 grams metallic per gallon. So here goes the teardown

 

BEFORE PICS you can tell it needs some work has 2 inch lift shackles add a leaf and 3 inch block still doesnt sit level?!?!?!

Drivers side -- Dents in the front fender, top of rear DS door and minor dents on doors. Minor rust and corrosion
on rockers and behind fender flare, also rear quarter.
Passenger side--dent in front fender doors and many on bed. crincklnd fender and bed. heavier corrosion on rear
and behind fender flares. rear bumper is being replaced by a roll pan and tailgate replaced by a net untill i can find a decent priced one.
Bed will be coated in roll on bedliner.need better taillights (truck does not run on rice) believe me it would be cheaper (you see the lift and 35s)Has 5.5 inch rcd and 3 inch PA

Got the bed. rear doors. rear glass off, rear bumper and if you look close you can see the spilled yellow paint on the shackle and spare tire housing

 

fenders, bumpers, hood lights and grille removed

one day out on the trails lost my 4X4 and got jammed in between 2 trees and beat the living $h*) out of my rear bumper so im putting a roll pan in for clearance and looks
