get the red label spicer ball joints. I have them and they were the same quality as the others without the crappy boots. I have problems with boots ripping prematurely (high angles) and I figured out that the crappier the ball joints are hte better boots they have...

ex...moog ripped at 15k miles...trw/oem at 30k. I've been through 5 sets now :)

Yeah, I'm looking at the spicers now.

As for the balljoints either is fine. I'm running moog uppers and spicer lowers and haven't had any problems with either.
Yeah I know. But my carriers looks like ***, so may as well clean up/paint the extra ones I have.

you gotta clean that that bay up! i cleaned mine today, it looks goooooooood :)
I found a the same tcase at a local yard. Gonna grab it next paycheck. As far as transmissions go, I figured, wtf. I'm gonna keep this truck till she dies, so I'm gonna buy a new one from 1stfordparts.com. May as well spend the cash to have a brand new trans. New engine 3.0 may be in the works in the next year or so. Just to extend the life of this beast.

The mud I barreled thru was pure slop. Check the pics on the first post, you can see the mud buildup on my front end. Stuff was nuts.

But yeah, I popped the hood at work, me and dave (02rangermayhem) almost died when we saw the mud. Cleaned the bay that same day.

to think we went all the way up to georgia, traveled threw some rough weather, your doing a lot of prep work, and you and i will be having some "fun" installing the same parts that i already have..... and all this work jus so you can have a manual transfer-case and 4wd.

you have set the bar, yet again, jus a little higher...... i hate you.

lol.....

My ranger was my daily for over a year with the aussie locked front. If the truck isn't in 4x4 you cant even tell the locker is there.

What's the install like?

I was just checking out the powertrax rear locker, sounds pretty easy.

i was looking last time i was at the wreckers, they didn't have any. i found one on kijiji, $75 going to try for 50. for the trannie thats not a bad idea to get a new one...i only have 40,000 km on my truck so doesnt make much sense to me to put a trannie with 150,000 k on it

i have a question about the manuel t-case. is there any way to test if it works before actually putting it in? like just switching into 4x4 and spin where the drive shaft would be by hand or something? i'm going to be getting a 1354 case this weekend but don't want to buy a dud
