what i do is rough cut them about a 1/2" from my line with the 4.5" electric grinder with a cut of wheel. then i toss on a flap disk with like 80 grit and slowly sand/grind my way to the line. it takes forever but the results are good. you have to take slow passes and take breaks because it will get too hot for the paint and peel it. Always hold the grinder so its spinning in to the fenders because it will peel the paint where this rolls it in. Then I mask the whole thing off and shoot it with primer/paint to seal that line back up. Id do several coats. Then finish it up by using that black plastic trim that people put on their doors/trunks to protect the edges. its already got a glue on it, so its pretty easy.

looking good....
I'm surprised Gonderman hasn't nutted and flown out from CA to help. Maybe he can overkill some axle welds for ya. LOL Freak'n Jason!
I think my truck may eventually go this way to some degree. Given RCD's discontinued the kit I'm entertaining the idea of dropping it and going DBR. Only way that happens is if I get a job at Sandia National Labs I've applied for. Starting is 58.6K versus my weak 31K I was making down in Las Cruces.

Then on our way home we were coming down from northern Michigan, but our track kept us far north, passing through Chicago.
I'll make it out there some day...
Funny you should mention this. LOL

awesome work Zach. i got a question tho. i know nothing about the setup your building, but just out of curiosity, where all the bars tie into the bulkhead at the frame, that's strong enough to take the load of the suspension? it just looks to me like the loop that follows the cab profile would hit the cab. again just wondering and wanting to learn more about your setup.
