Hey Zach,
Just want to say that the work you're doing on the truck looks great!
Hope everything works out as expected.. I'm curious to see how the cage holds up, but looks like you've done your research and got it well planned out.
Great work... I think it will look cool when completed.

my neighborhood association would flip **** if i had the "truck" sitting on jack stands, no axles, no front end.. for long enough to do an engine swap and get it running. then i would still need to get axles, links + suspension, steering and all the other crap im forgetting back under there.

so i need somewhere i can work on my truck before i can really tear into it. my truck won't fit in the garage here at my parents place and if it did there would be no room to work.

Beard, will the cage be removable to remove the cab in order to do the motor swap?

yeah i jsut want to get it done, it was after midnight when i stopped working on it and at that point I was just too tired to do anything.

I have most of the hard part done on the bumper, just the side pieces to go.

he has a little flange, look where the fender is supposed to be.

Zach, am i blind or do you have another set of flanges connecting the back half to the front cage?

edit: just looked again, i dont see anything.. how are you planning on getting the cab out from under the cage if it doesnt disconnect from the back?

orrrrr are you running those ID clamps?

Depending where i'm allowed to work i might do a big *** engine, just tube all around it and figure out how to reattach the fenders at some point later down the road. ha
Fenders are over rated anyways, go big or go home

This build is simply amazing!
We read about Jeep build ups in the rags. Then we read about how yet another person built up an awesome K5 Blazer or early Bronco. But this is truly unique, functional, and clean. Personally, I like it when a rig retains fenders and a full cab. Many props to you. And many thanks for sharing the build up process.

With that said... For some reason all I keep picturing are

PORTAL AXLES!

i am going to be using ID clamps, but they have not showed up yet and im not waiting. so when the time comes for it to be removed ill cut it off and weld them in. then it will be remove able.

thanks for all the comments guys. i know i have not been too specific on all the details, usually too tired by the time i get in.

thursday i am getting my fuel cell mounted welded on and facing off my 6061 T6 aluminum solid body mounts then boring the hole through them. once i get all that mounted hopefully finish off the bumper and paint everything.

the bed sides are just gonna suck no matter what, im not sure what i am doing with those.

skinning those back on will be a pita no matter how you do it. otherwise it looks like everything is falling into place for you. i know nothing ever goes smoothly but it looks like youre doing a great job and taking your time and doing it right the first time.
