it should be fine as long as it doesnt bind through travel. I assume thats what angle your at for your length to width you are at for your uppers right now

cant wait to see it run next year in the dunes. progress is looking good

the upper wishbone is like a Y, rule of thumb is to have the Y separate at least 45* (22.5) in each direction to keep control of the side to side movement of the axle. Id like to make the separation closer to 60 degrees. I just dont know the pros and cons of it. I have been searching pirate but nothing yet.

That optima box is pretty pimp.. I think I'm gonn have to get one. Only problem is i don't have a garage to keep the truck in so people can mess with it.

ahh so draw a center line from the mount where they meet then measure out 22.5 on each.... does that distance change as the wheelbase is extended or shortened?

It looks like driver's side of the rear axle is further back then the passenger side.

Zach I was kinda drawing it up in my head while I should have been working today...

I don't think going a little bit past 45* would be too much of a problem. What sort of angle are you looking at? And about how long are your uppers/lowers?

put it in the link calculator. See what it does with the numbers. Im pretty sure the more angle you have the better the side to side holding is going to be. But it might affect your roll angle and other stuff im not real sure.

How did you attach that new bulk head / rear cross member under the cab?

With out a triangle support running though the cab into the fame i wonder if the truck will flex there or worse bend.

the length of the upper would change for sure. but the angle wouldnt.

it is. I have not squared the whole thing up yet. that was my stopping point last night, i need to figure out how to get it perfectly square before i weld the upper.

i later found on pirate that it really doesnt matter, they say to go as wide as you can with a wishbone. I opted to stay right at 22.5 on each side as it fit well in the design.

it did effect roll angle but not enough to worry about it. i just stayed with 45 total. that calculator is great, glad someone made it.
