project daily/wheeler B3000

ive been doing alot lately so i figured i may as well make up a build thread.
i picked this truck up in early october after i sold my 2wd ranger, and my samurai project. anyway we all love pictures so.....on to the pics:yahoo: when i picked her up Attachment 93604 immediately started the build process steel for my sliders Attachment 93605 Attachment 93606 Attachment 93607 Attachment 93608 Attachment 93609 Attachment 93610 action shot with sliders Attachment 93611 then i found explorer leather seats, center console and over head console for $70! and added a set of gauges so i know my actual oil pres, water temp, and voltage. Attachment 93612 Attachment 93613 Attachment 93614 Attachment 93615 Attachment 93616 up next came the rear bumper Attachment 93617 Attachment 93618 then i found myself a lift for dirt cheap, i know the radius arm drop brackets suck but i cant afford extended ones yet so these will do for now Attachment 93619 the 2 car garage where everything is built Attachment 93620 under the knife Attachment 93621 first drive on the lift was over to my friends huge shop, had to take some pictures under the light Attachment 93622 Attachment 93623 Attachment 93624 yes i know i have a bit of a camber issue that im working on fixing up next is how i decided to lay out the bed. built the highlift mounts and the mounts for the pick/axe and shovel are called quickfist clamps. the high lift mounts Attachment 93625 the bed Attachment 93626 Attachment 93627 Attachment 93628 and for some reason my truck came with no passanger side oh **** handle, so after a few girls started complaining i added one. Attachment 93629 and at the moment i am in the process of building a plate style winch bumper for up front, but in the mean time i threw some hella 500s i had laying around on the factory bumper. Attachment 93630 i will keep updating as i build, next will be the front bumper:icon_thumby: |
Looks awesome man, good job so far. Look forward to seeing more progress!

forgot to update this thread, heres my updates from TRS
got some 33x12.5r15s on rims. Attachment 91422 then went wheelin sway bar still hooked up :( Attachment 91423 Attachment 91424 Attachment 91425 Attachment 91426 Attachment 91427 Attachment 91428 Attachment 91429 Attachment 91430 Attachment 91431 Attachment 91432 Attachment 91433 Attachment 91434 Attachment 91435 played on some rocks, open diffs suck and i didnt want to break anything Attachment 91436 Attachment 91437 Attachment 91438 Attachment 91439 Attachment 91440 Attachment 91441 oh and landed on the sliders for the first time with the lift Attachment 91442 Attachment 91443 oh yes sorry ive been a little busy with school. turns out it wasnt the gas, just a coincidence that both our trucks had the same symptoms. after messing with it for a bit i started to go back to the basics and found that my timing some how jumped 20degrees. so i retimed it and its been running great since, still dumb founded on how the timing jumped. also due to my stupidity, on sunday my passenger side wheel bearing grenaded its self and left me stranded 10 miles from home. i forgot to repack my wheel bearings after the super wet and muddy wheeling trip a week and a half earlier. the inner part of the bearing practically welded it self to my passenger side spindle, chisel, torch, vice-grips, nothing could get it off, so i ran to the pull apart in tacoma and got a spindle off an explorer for 4 bucks. sad sight first truck to get towed home. Attachment 91444 and what i saw when i pulled the rotor off Attachment 91445 this weekend i plan to start working on my front bumper again, and fix our old 1975 volvo 164 so i can sell it and use the money for a new welder or plasma cutter :) got some more done, and the pictures i promised. yes its alittle lower on the passenger side, i quickly threw it on the truck, and didnt worry about aligning it. Attachment 91446 Attachment 91447 Attachment 91448 Attachment 91449 Attachment 91450 Attachment 91451 Attachment 91452 Attachment 91453 Attachment 91454 Attachment 91455 still alot left to build on it, but its starting to take shape. you can only build so fast with a cut-off wheel :dunno: heres the progress so far, i only painted it because i wont be able to work on it for a few days and with all the rain washington gets i dont want it to start rusting. Attachment 91456 Attachment 91457 Attachment 91458 Attachment 91459 Attachment 91460 Attachment 91461 Attachment 91462 Attachment 91463 Attachment 91464 Attachment 91465 if you look close you can see my friends 240sx(sr20det, rhd, cage, megan coilovers, fuel cell etc) Attachment 91466 how it sits at the moment Attachment 91467 Attachment 91468 |
Looks good man!
|
im really loving that front bumper. this whole build is really cool
|
I love your truck but what are you going to do for turn signals?
|
you should put it on fullwidths! that thing would be badass! SASing these trucks is super easy and it will wheel way better!! what gears do you have in your thing now? you could get 1/2 ton axle set with 4.10s with 3-400 bucks and be set!!

SAS takes 2 days!! and fullwidths arent bad with a wheel with a good amount of backspacing!

finaly got working on it again lol. got the hoop and lights done. all that is really left is to finishe the sides. in some spots it doent look square and level in the pictures but believe me everything is square and equal. just crappy cell pictures.

damn, lucky it didnt tag you! truck looks good tho!
|
Lookin good man!
|
nice little build. i'm liking parts of the bumper. i think you should have more material in front of the tires. i like the center part though.
|
I really like the build man. Th front bumper that you built is pretty much the same concept as what I got going on int my garage right now. I am planning on putting a small hoop on mine tho.
Keep up the good work. |

I thought this was going to be a pretty boring and not the best build thread when you first started. (idk why I just did) But you proved me wrong. Kick ass little truck man. I'm really liking it! The front bumper is sweet but you should have made a bigger stinger since it looks like you already have problems dinging up your hood:fing26:
Truck looks great man! Keep up the good work! Where did you get the winch and how do you like it so far (if you have used it)? |
Oh yeah and I also vote for full width D60's on that thing!!
|
Aren't the cops gonna bug you about that front plate not being immediately noticeable?? If you think they might then have a look through my photo album for a super cheap way of mounting that front plate, that's also quick to remove.. If the pics aren't there, then I can get them for you..
Sweet lil truck man. I love the bumper.. GB :) |
