Project Deceptive GT
Well this will be a long drawn out build due to all that is being done and has to be done. It is a 2002 Mustang GT Convertible. Here is what it looked the day I picked it up.
Before it got parked in the garage for what is pretty much and entire rebuild it was sporting 18x9 Steeda Ultralight Wheels, Eibach Pro System Plus Suspension Kit, Swarr Bar, 3.55 FRPP Gears, MAC CAI, Flowmaster Super 44 Catback, X Pipe, Pro 5.0 Short Throw, Steeda X2s, Steeda UDPs, Simco Instrument Cluster, Professional Products 75MM TB and Larger Plenum, Cobra Brakes (fr), Haartz Stayfast Canvas Top, Pioneer 7" Indash, Infinity Kappa Components, Diamond Audio D310 10s (2), Diamond Amps, and Tinted Tails (VHT).
The car will be getting a motor swap. The new powerplant will be a 4.6 Teksid Aluminum Block bored .020 with a forged crank and rods at around 9.5:1 to 10:1 CR, Ported & Polished 03 Cobra Heads, Custom Blower Cams, 01 Cobra Intake Manifold, and a Vortech V1 T Trim with custom FMIC Setup blowing through MAC LTs, BBK Catted X Pipe, and Borla Stingers. The Eibach Suspension will stay with the addition of J&M Upper and Lower Control Arms and a PA Racing Chromoly Tubular K Member. A T56 Magnum 6 speed will replace the TR3650 5 Speed. The Rear-End will have new 3.73 FRPP Gears, an Eaton Detroit True Trac 31 Spline Helical Gear LSD, andMoser 31 Spline Axles. The front seats are being ditched in favor of Corbeau GTSIIs restitched. As far as body, the stock spoiler has been ditched along with the rear bumper and hood. A new 95 Style Cervinis Cobra R Hood with a 2.5" Rise, 03-04 Cobra Rear Bumper from ABC Exclusive, 10th Anniv SVE Wheels 18x9 and 18x10s Black with Polished Lip Deep Dishes, and Saleen S281 Spoiler will show along with a Convertible Styling Bar and Saleen Speedster Cover when I go topless. To help minimize belt slip, we will be using a BGG Performance GI Joe 8 Rib Pulley System and be pullied for 15 or so lbs.
We are looking for an end result of 600+ rwhp and great driveability.
Right now I am tearing the car down and slowly collecting parts. I currently have one complete 95 Mark VIII Motor (Teksid Block) and another Teksid Short Block, the 3.73s, Eaton True Trac, 01 Cobra Intake Manifold, 03 Cobra Heads, Rims, Styling Bar, Borla Stinger Catback, and BBK X Pipe.
Another part of this project is cleaning the underside and engine bay to assembly line quality. We will also be cleaning up and repainting alot of stuff underneath the car. And the carpeting will be replaced.
This is something my wife and I take to cruises, shows, and the once in a while drag night fun.
I have never really done anything to a car and am doing all but putting the motor together and installing the gears. I am learning as I go and getting help and knowledge from friends in the Mustang Club here.

I will be following this.Mine is somewhere between your before and after so it will be interesting for me.I also have an Aluminator long block sitting in my basement.I bought my Ranger so I'd have something to drive while I do a little at a time to my Stang,but then I started modding my Ranger.Now that I've done everything I wanted to the Ranger I can start the work on the Stang.Your car looks great already.

Picked up my heads today, they are brand new 03-04 Cobra Heads. The stock cams will be ditched alond with the stock valve springs. They will be receiving a Port & Polish and custom Bob Kurgan designed blower cams and Nextek Valve Springs.
The closest documented build I found was basically my setup through an auto and off the shelf cams. The car made 696rwhp at 14lbs. I should make my goal even with a conservative tune.

Makes me miss my '98 GT. I still have it, but wrecked it recently after owning it for 13 years. I have many of the same mods: Tremec T56, 3:73's, Eibach, MAC cold air, x-pipe with no cats, the list goes on. I have decided to keep it despite the wreck, but for now it's parked in a storage locker and my Ranger is my current project.

Parts are slowly trickling in. Not much progress as school, work, the house, the dogs, and my wife monopolize my time. I hope to get some more work done this weekend.
I currently have two Teksid Blocks at the house, one is a back up just in case the other goes boom. The stock GT 2V is ready to come out of the car. I did get a Forged Kellogg Crank for the car. The interior is ready for the old carpet to come out and the last piece of my stereo setup came in, a new Diamond Audio amp for my mids and highs.
One of the extra blocks is a complete B Head motor so, I am breaking that down and selling everything except the block.
I will probably be picking up a complete 99-04 4V just because I am tired of searching for small odds and ends for the car.
