Project R, take two
Project R, take two
Allright guys... I'm just over a month from being home from this deployment, and I just saw the pictures of the R for the first time since I have seen it in a few years... all I can say is that I have my work cut out for me. Just for a back brief, in case you didnt read my intro, its a 96 XL that I drove in High School, and was given away after I moved to Germany. Now that I will be coming home from Afghanistan I need a DD, and so I inquired about the truck which was gladly given back as it had become an eyesore. Well now its my beast of burden haha. I am extremely thrilled to have the second chance with it, and I would be grateful for all the help/advice you guys are willing to give. I will get the pics onto photobucket soon, and have them up here for your gawking pleasure... its a sadness that I am almost ashamed to display, but at least I am comforted to know that it didnt get to its current state at my hand.
Enough bsing though...
First things first. This truck will be designed as a DD, but if the build gets out of hand and I dont want to DD it, no biggie. The stock 2.3L is blown... I dont know all the details, but I know some of it has been dismantled and scattered throughout the cab and bed. I have hopes of a SOHC 4.0L though, so there is question number one coming out... Where is the best place to purchase one, and which tranny is best for taking a beating.
