How does it run? Seems like some of the stuff sits too low, especially if you go offroad. Looks good though.

Is it just me or does that seem like a really stupid place to put a turbo? Love the idea... Not so much the execution

It ran like crap (rough idle at stops) for the first few days until i got the restrictor in. ever since it stopped leaking oil and runs amazing. The first day i took it out with the restrictor i was in disbelief since it was such a cheap part with amazing fix.

I agree the intake sits too low.. but im gonna 90 it to the side and the raise it up

kyle, i remember reading an article about a dub that was rwd with a vrt. he ran the piping under the car and still kept the intercooler up front. it really worked in his favor. i realize that a dub is different then a offroad ranger but it's not a bad location.

i do however agree that the OP's setup is too low.

Oh yes. haha. low end torque was unbelievable day one.. I was like.. ok, thats a bit more power... and the whole build only took 1.5 days.. first day was gathering a bunch of pipes and hooking up the oil lines, exhaust and intake... next day was just electrical. Not bad at all in my opinion. I mean it was no turbo kit by any means but it sure was a hell of lot easier than a body lift.

oh.. and hearing a blow off valve going off is the most amazing feeling in the world. haha.

So was it worth all the work and money? Is it a night and day difference?

it was definitely a night and day difference. I mean the other night i had the boost turned way up and ya.. was going fast and next thing you know i hit a boost spike and it read 10 psi... the truck went from 3000 to 5000 rpm in a split second and i got thrusted back to my seat... it was so funny and scary... haha. and then i heard a loud pop noise... one of the cold side couplers blew off.. i discovered how amazing boost was.. but right now im running it back low... i think im gonna get it at 5~6 psi and keep it that way til im sick of it.

haha. you can definitely ride shotgun. but i think i need to get it tuned before i really show it "off." like all my friends love it so im not worried but rather have it up to spec with some of the big boys here before R-F members see it.

haha dude i understand my decals are peeling off too, but mine isnt due to a Gain in HP ...... its due to random shrubbery around my yard.

It will vary depending on the turbo and some other stuff.

the turbo itself is capable of alot more. before have got well over a bar with it.. as for my set up.. it should be limited at seven.. however it did peak to 10 the other night so who knows.

i absolutely agree. i am a mechanic by trade so i understand everything he is doing...there is a reason most turbo kits for the new corvettes put the turbo under the rear bumper. all im saying is i know how much damage will be done by the placement of the setup. having everything hanging so low will be recipe for destruction. it will be very easy to catch an oil line on a small piece of debris going down the highway. it takes very little to destroy oil lines and turbos.
if you want the turbo mounted under the truck lift it up under the bed completely

i mean mount it in front of the rear wheel. there should be lots of space and you can easily make a shield for it to block debrise
