I went f150 8.8 for the ease of switching and not having to mess with the abs. Another option is the 9.75 in the 2004 f150

Ya I followed your swap closely, was the drive shaft a direct swap? Or did you have to re drill the flange?

I considered the 9.75 but it's over kill and reduces clearance a lot under the diff. On top of that there are not many locker options.

Currently I am shopping for the best deal on a locker the will pick the axle to match. 8.8, 9" or 9.75.

Direct bolt up for the driveshaft. I'm not good at making threads for how tos I know. Moved spring perches and shock mounts. Otherwise just cleaned and repainted. Expo discs swap over as well. Trying to find rotors with a shorter cap so the don't rub the backing plates. Also would like a simple truss

Honestly not sure, it wasn't under the truck. Up to 97 they bumped the axle size up in 98

Good times wheeling yesterday, ran the Lower naches trail then over to the power line trail up to Ravens roost.

lots of STEEP fun hill climbs

a few tight spots for sure

another very tight spot

climbing up to ravens roost

I have a few noises to chase down but the truck ran well.

Rattled a caliper bolt loose toward the end of the day and we got to do some creative bolt swapping. Turns out the trans crossmember has the same thread bolt as the brake caliper just an inch or so too long. We swapped an SAE bolt for the cross member bolt, then put washers behind the trans bolt to attach the caliper bracket back to the knuckle. Then after all that Dwight and Atom came back with the bolt! The found it on the road about a mile back. Put everything back and on our way again.

so I will be making a run to the junk yard and picking up a selection of spare bolts and such.

messed around in the back yard, the pitbulls have some crazy bite and traction. truck climbed over everything I pointed it at. also took the opportunity to hose all the mud off, I have some work too do knocking out dents from the last few trail run.

tires clear with room to spare and still lots of travel left. need to get it out on the trail!

Considering I have 4 sets I like them a lot.

I have 4 hyperspot d2s on the bumper a pair of driving pattern d2s on the front of my rack aimed out and a pair normal dually floods on the middle of the rack.

It's worth the money to go with the D2 versions. They are a lot more output for not much more money and take up the same space. Also with my projector retrofit being so good on output the normal dually does not make much difference.

My hyper spots give great distance and being bumper mounted you don't get glare from bad weather. The side lights are for switchbacks and searching road sides and are really handy to have.

If I could only pick one pair it would be the d2 driving pattern it's a great combo of distance and spread with no hot spots.

Project wide continues! Picked up an f150 8.8 to match the rear with the front. Now just axles, brakes, locker, gears, truss, mounts and shocks to go.

Started the tear down on my rear axle so I could order my new shafts. then it will be time to get a locker and gears installed and get it welded into the truck.

also got a new toy for the sunny days,

Bought my dads old 2003 cobra. Its a tenth anniversary car with 9000 miles on it. Also the car my wife and I left our wedding in, so has some history with us. No major mods just a JLT carbon intake, and an MGW short throw shiftier. Plan is to add a cat back, new tires, retro a set of headlights and I may add a nice double din stereo.
