project white lightning

this is my little project truck a 2000 ford ranger v6 4.0 4x4 with almost 150 k miles on it, it runs good but the suspension is a little shot. the tranny was just rebuilt at 140k miles almost everything on it runs good.. just a few minor problems, with things like the power locks and mirrors...

i have put alot of little mods on it like 3 inch lift beefier tires, bed rail covers, tool box, 1212 watt sound system, homemade steel backrack with rails running the length of the bed, vent n bug guard visors... but enough about that stuff...

i call her project white lightning.. lame ik but its after the sound system i put in it and i plan on putting custom black n white thunderbolt racing stripes on the hood and some lightning bolts running down the side (maby.. if i can figure out a way to make it look good) a cab visor with running lights, an exhaust and an intake too.

i would like to know if ne1 has a few ideas on how i can get a little more power out of the motor.. without any serious mechanics or blowing the motor up, nothing too insane.

also i need a new bumper.. i hit a deer (now in my freezer) and idk where to find one that would look good on my truck, or if ne1 has a picture of one some1 made that came out kinda cool i can use as an example, i have plenty of aluminum diamond plate and steel to work with and im pretty capable of welding.

or just any other random ideas ne1s got i can do to it.. im open to them

heres a few pics of where she stands right now..

I have one of a 91-94 explorer. The mounts would need to be changed, but this is an easy task with a welder and a cutoff wheel :)

for performance try: Screamin Demon coil pack, cold air intake, exhaust, underdrive pulley. As for the bumper look/search around the site, a lot of guys have done pre-runner tube bumpers, they look great and you can add a nice big skid plate. James Duff might have a bumper to fit your truck but I'm not sure.

IMO best bang for the buck is a hand held programmer. NOT A CHIP. and/or U/D pulleys.
The good programers aren't cheap though. About $400. Pulleys for the 4.0 are about $250 or so I think.

I agree pullys and a programmer are the best bang for the buck right out of the gate. Cold air intakes help a lot as well
