Just a little update. Heads are getting dropped off tomorrow to be freshened up and should be done by Friday. I'll be pulling everything off the car that I'm going to be powder coating this weekend and hopefully making my order for my gaskets and bolts and whatnot. Hoping to have this thing done in the next 2 weeks. Not too bad considering I only get time to work on it on the weekends.

Heads got dropped off this morning. They'll be done tomorrow or Friday. I'll be sand blasting the VC's and some other miscellaneous items this weekend that I'll be powder coating. I also have to make a list and order everything I need to reinstall everything. So hopefully next weekend it'll all be done.

Got the heads back Friday. They'll be getting a coat of paint today. Also took my intake into work yesterday and sand blasted it and put it in the parts cleaner to get it all cleaned up. I'm thinking about just leaving it unpainted.

Finally ordered all my gaskets and everything from Summit today. Also went and picked up a new T-Stat and ACT sensor. I also gave the heads a coat of paint today. I'll be sand blasting the VC's and some other things this week also. If everything comes in this week/weekend I'll be putting everything back together hopefully.

Make sure you get a good bead of gasket maker on the front and back of the intake where it meets the block right into the corners against the head... they like to leak in there!

A 1/4" section was completely gone from the drivers side head gasket. It was the 3rd cylinder back.

They're prone to pushing out. Even if you do use them get some gasket maker in those corners! Had to do them over before because I didn't do it the first time... lol.

Why not? If you crash it you buy it.

Good to know. I'll make sure to throw some extra material in there.

Can't put the passenger side head on yet because Summit sent me two left side head gaskets. In the meantime I cleaned up my valve covers. Sand blasted the original paint off, painted them, then sanded them down with 100 grit, then 220 grit, then finished them off with a red Scotch Brite pad.

Final result:
