Redneckstone's Project Splash "re-build"...
(3/30/08)
Finally figured out what the problem was with the driver window. it hasnt worked since i got the truck. checked out all the wiring, thats good.. hmm must be the motor, pulled the motor out and moved it by hand hooked it up to the plug and presto it works. musta had a dead stop on where it was at. reinstalled and motor works..
next finally pulled out the carpet, what ya know the driver side carpet is SOAKING wet and there is rust... wonderful.. good thing i bought carpet from a guy for cheap.. so washed the whole floor. the problem was the wire plug under the seat was poped out and mud and water came up into the floor. so washed down all the floor let it dry and painted... here is the before and after...
before
After
also worked on the dash. first the stock dash piece that goes around the (gauges, headlight switch, vent, radio, ac, ashtray) had about 5 broken clips. well when i went on the parts hint i picked up a new one. notice in the before the astray is sticking out and down thats how it sat.. now its all better lol..
before
After
now here is how the suspension is all torn apart
spindles all sand blaster and painted, also here is the bearing drivers and seal driver for the spindle needle bearing my father made.. good stuff...
Next I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone with a TTB suspension and replacing axle u-joints, here is the axle machined down so you can run full C-clips instead of the half clips that the U-joints come with. this way less likely hood of it popping the half clip and spitting out a U-joint cup..
Thats it for today more tomorrow....

Well got some more parts...
First Special thanks to Q man for the great birthday present, my fav tail lights of all time to go on the truck
Next special thanks to Catie (GF) for coming with me tonight, We picked up a chrome bumper with brackets tonight and also a very nice ext cab 2 door carpet, because mine is hosed badly, its wet and also smells of smoke and looks like vomit, so it is going in the trash and this one will get a good cleaning and go inside!

Ok so if you ever want to rebuild a TTB front end word of advise "Open up your check book!"
ok just spent dang near $500 on parts some stuff is missing from this pile
-Tons and TONS of seals ( i mean dear god there everywhere )
-Bearings galore!!! what the heck i think there is 5 sets on this front end?!?!??!
-Wagner pads
-Calipers
-Flex lines
-ball joints
-more seals
-rear wheel cylinders
-rear brake lines
-star adjusters
-Spicer 5-760x u-joints for axles (btw the most hard freaking u-joints to find(the upgraded one's from stock)
(3-16-2008)
this weekend it sits up on jack stands.
For rear brakes need driver side rear brake line, drums cut and 2 wheel cylinders, everything else is pretty new.
front brakes, need both flex lines, calipers there leaking, rotors clean cut, there really new and pads..
need all front end u-joints on the axles, wheel bearings, gonna pull the diff and flush it..
ok now the best part of the weekend.. drove up to Port Huron to my dads, buddy's barn from work. he is parting out a 1994 ranger, picked up all my cab mounts/bolts/pucks, tons and tons of interior parts i needed even the whole dash for my silver truck because its cracking, and even an A/C condenser because mine has a hole in it on the splash..
(2-2-2008)
Ok.. spent all weekend making sure the motor is ok..
Installed the new Radiator, lower rad hose. made sure it would hold coolant. burped the system.. all is well...
now sunday I pulled the drain plug to see if coolant in the oil.. and NOPE... kick ***! then pulled all the spark plugs... besides being black as hell no coolant... sweet...
so replaced the plugs, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, belt, did oil change and filter, alternator pulley(it was bent had a spare laying around).
now i need a upper radiator hose, thermostat, fan, fan clutch, and fan shroud and the motor is good to go!
here is what the radiator looked like when i took it out.. god this kid was a moron...
here is my lovely bent up fender...
oh i have two cool things!! pop out windows... and CARGO COVER!!! kick ***
