Redranger04g TLC & Mod Thread

Haven't posted here in a while, been busy finishing my undergrad and haven't had a lot of time to focus on the ranger. I was pretty happy with it for a long time, but was planning on selling it this year. Plans have changed and I have decided to go to grad school, so I want to get the Ranger back to how I want it so I am happy with it again.

Here it is a couple years ago, minus the tonneau cover. 2004 4.0 Edge

Anyways, a couple weeks ago I damaged my rear bumper pretty good, destroyed my exhaust pipe and dented the body a little bit, so over the next couple months I will be adding some stuff and fixing some stuff up. I'll get some pictures of the damage tomorrow. Here is my tentative list for now.

Need:
New Bumper
New Exhaust Tip
Fix Dents and bent fender
Rewire Headunit
New hydraulic arms for tonneau cover
Replace some interior panels
New Subwoofer Box (old one is falling apart and rattles like crazy)
Dynomat Interior around sub box

Want:
LED Taillight bulbs
Tuner
4.10 Gears

Currently my truck has 3.55 gears with 32s. Most of you would probably hate this, but I like it. I do a lot of highway driving and get about 24 MPG, running about 14 around the city. However, driving might change to more city so I am thinking I would like to go to 4.10s.

Hello to everyone again and to the newer guys. As always looking forward to comments and advice.

The first plan of action is a new bumper. I do not want a stock bumper, because I am a firm believer in break it, then build it stronger. So I have narrowed it down to two after market rear bumpers. Let me know which ones you guys prefer.

I'm leaning towards the second bumper. I love the lights built in and the stock look. Prices are about the same.

Fearce offroad makes the second bumper. Fearce Offroad- Heavy Duty Winch Bumpers for Ford, Dodge, Chevy, GMC, and Toyota So far the customer service from Jon who runs the place hasn't been great. But as long as I can get the bumper I will be happy.

I like the tube work, but I also like how the other one looks stock. Both look like they will be the last bumper that I will have to buy. Took some pictures of the damage I did, it is not too bad, but need repair.

I plan on just getting a new exhaust tip because mine is pretty rusted. The dents I plan on getting paintless dent removal. It wont look like new, but will be good enough. And I will be purchasing a new bumper, most likely the fearce bumper.

Has anyone every used one of those OEM ford parts sites to purchase parts? I found a painted bumper on their for under $300 so I might go with that instead of aftermarket to save some money and have more money for gears and a tuner. One of the sites that I am talking about is this
Ford Parts OEM - Ford Parts Online Direct| Ford Part | Ford OEM Parts | OEM Ford Parts

Made some improvements to the ranger, new exhaust tip, some audio goodies and dent is getting fixed today. I'll put up some pictures later
