It's all good, this thread is done anyway...

It depends on class, but after insurance fees, payback, entry, and the like it ends up being around ~$1500

Why not? Desert trucks can be pretty too! Besides, it's covered in rust from all the grinding/welding/cutting that took place on and in it. So it needs a good buff with some polishing compound then a wax... we'll see if I can't fit that in before this weekend

Well....its not that i am surprised about washing a desert truck... its that YOU actually washed YOUR truck.... last time I saw it, it looked like it just came out of a barn after sitting for 20 years!

I just washed my trailer before i loaded it up, so....

Well, it hadn't moved in 7 months so I wasn't to worried about it. Same with the Mustang, and my F1 hadn't been driven in 2 months... you should have looked at the Avalanche... lol

Holy crap... I can't believe it's already been a year since I updated this thread.

I just read though the whole thing and man what a ride that was! Trucks come a long way for sure.

I just brought it home from Pismo last night after having a flawless run, finally.

Figure I'll pick up where this thread left off since there are some updates missing... after lunch.

Hang tight, I'm digging up pictures now. Most of the updates have already been posted elsewhere on this site, I just figured I would update this thread with the most recent stuff.

Cliff notes on the most recent though... mounted my sway bar and made room for my 35's. Oh, and repainted everything.

They are Explorer disks. They bolt right on to the big bearing "torino" style 9" axles. And I love them!

Ok... we'll start where I left off with this thread.

Here is the finished interior... and a couple other random pictures that come with it from when I wrapped up the build a year ago.

Since then I've been running the truck hard and have broken quite a few parts in the process...

Hub #1

Shock #1

CV's

Shock #2

Hub #2 (and 3)

Skid Plate

Light #1

And a spindle

That's all the big parts anyway...

One of the more recent additions to the truck were the newly gusseted spindles and full heimed steering.

Then there was the new bumper to replace the old 1 1/2" Mild Steel bent bumper, this one is 1 3/4" DOM.

Then I decided to up the ante and install a set of 35/12.5 Goodyear MT/R's, the new style.
