"Snowball" '00 XLT 2WD Daily Driver Project Log
Name was coined by my nine-year-old daughter the day I brought it home, simply because it's white and it was snowing that particular day. After some thoughts about everything I could do to it, I figured that name was fitting, it's going to snowball into something much bigger than just a daily driver someday. Bought a little over a year ago with about 112k on it, for a work truck/daily driver. About 30k miles later...
Oil/filter changes every 3000 miles (give or take), I only use Quaker State synthetic-blend oil and Purolator filters.
Recently put in a starter, battery, front Monroe gas shocks, front wheel bearings and seals, had to replace a worn rear tire - opted to go with Kelly all terrains vs the no-name crap that came with the truck.
Next couple projects I intend on doing includes:
- Replacing the 60/40 seats with 40/40 seats & console out of an Explorer SportTrac I spotted at the JY a couple months ago.
- New mirrors because the stock ones suck, a little bit of wind moves the entire mirror so I have to readjust it all the time.
- OHC out of an 05 explorer
- Fog lights or a light bar, undecided at the moment
I'd also like to eventually buy a camper shell/cap for the bed, so all I have to do is throw an air mattress in the back and not have to worry about pitching a tent when we go camping.
{ Pictures are coming ... }
