I guess this is becoming my truck project thread, I don't really want to start a new one, but I have a few unrelated updates. I'm thinking I might have a mod change the thread title to make it more of a project thread.

Anyway... I sold the topper. I made a little on it, so it's all good. In the market for a different one.

I got my relays, so I used a few of em. Wired my backup lights, except for the switch. I guess I need to put a fuse though.

I also finally wired my horn into my viper alarm system, so I get feedback from my horn now on lock/unlock. Also the full alarm is WAY louder now. partly because the siren that came with the kit isn't all that loud, and partly because I mounted in INSIDE my door. but oh well.

And, I had a leaky diff cover, so I pulled out the bearing main cap stabilizer bolts, where the fluid was leaking from, and put some ARP thread sealer on em. and got the diff cover nice in wiped down.

Want the title changed? Just tell me what you want it changed to.

Where did you put the backup lights? under your bumper?

Yes that's where he mounted them. Slim rectangular style. Will hold him over until the good bumpers are finished.

The rear diff looks so much better. Was nasty gross like most things on my yellow truck. Looks great now.

quick update... after putting new pads/rotors on tonight/last night, I am going down to clarksville TN this afternoon or tomorrow to pick up this topper... It looks in great shape and its what I want other than paint.

http://clarksville.craigslist.org/cto/3009899630.html

I'm debating if I want to get some duplicolor perfect match and do a mediocre job myself or cough up some more to get it done right by josh's dad. Hopefully this topper will be all it's cracked up to be in the pics. If so, I'll have the main component to proceed building my topper into something I can utilize for camping.

Yep the advertised price is also more than the agreed on price too, so hopefully an even better deal.

Just got back from picking it up. it's awesome, just needs a good cleaning. oh and it's not the right color for my truck...

but the paint is in great shape except a few small spots, all the glass is good, all the lift shocks are working, has two keys, side windows and rear door lock. Included the 4 clamps, has a high mount stop light and an interior light that could use some wiring up if they work.

pics tomorrow, it's dark now.

That's sick. Great looking shell. Love the fully opening sides. Makes it super easy.

Pics...

Now, opinions on a new toolbox? I need one that goes between the rails, looking at these two from tractor supply. One is cheap(er) and plenty of storage, one is twice the price, black treadplate, and two more cubic feet of storage. Really just depends if I want to spend more but the price difference is pretty big. If I ever lose the topper the expensive one would be better in an open bed but... I dunno. I'm not made of money yet.

yeah i dig. depends how the old toolbox goes, might have a buyer for a $100. if that's the case... I do really like the look of treadplate. I will check both out at the store though, online pics only show so much. either one is a LOT more storage than I had before.

oh and got the topper for $175 and a tank of gas round trip.

I figure I'd mention I went by tractor supply today and looked at both those boxes. The poly container is surprising sturdy looking and feeling. Might be a little more easy to move around and versatile if I move it out of the truck for a general chest or something. But the treadplate box has lift shocks so I can use two hands in the box if I need em... and more storage space. hm. both are nice.

also i'll just mention I changed out by rotors and pads this weekend. a few pics... please excuse my caliper.

I used to have a poly box like that. I would pack stuff in it and take it out of the truck when i would go up north for space up there.

since this is now my project thread, I guess I should mention all my projects...

parts are being cut to make this bumper. it's a two off design by me with a hidden hitch and flush mounted lights. Should have the parts to make them (two) in a couple weeks. Josh is getting one and I'm getting one.

Well, as I'm having them cut on the laser at work I can't exactly go into business with these. It's kind of a hassle to have them cut and in addition it has an affect on production as these are the same lasers they are using to cut all their production parts.

What I can do, is send you prints and even solidworks and cad files on all the components, if you can find someone to cut and bend the steel for you, that may be better, or you could do it by hand even. I'm not sure I'd be able to have more parts made at this point as the request is in. However, I hold no copyrights on the design, so if you or any company wants to make them to this spec it is fine by me.

CAD files and prints would be great. I know a couple fab guys that would have fun with this. Plus I can add a little personalization to it

You can PM it or I can give you my email

I'm gonna just outline my suspension plans real quick... not sure on superlifting it, I don't really wheel so not sure it is worth the extra headache. I'm debating the kit t5cents has for sale now. but that means new tires most likely.

My other option, is leave it stock, eventually do 32s, and do coilover conversion whenever. most likely option for me.

And as for the powerplant, I will either go big powerful v8 (big fan of the ls motor) or just do a supercharger with the rpcaster kit. Not sure on that yet either, but both of those would be a ways down the road. I think. haha.
