Taylor's 89 VW Golf GL
Well, Ive been searching for the right small car for a while now. And here she is.
Its an '89 Volkswagen Golf GL. Wolfsburg edition.
Volkswagens have been in my family a lot (especially old VW's) so I couldnt resist when I saw this car up for sale. I also couldnt pass up the asking price.
COOL STORY:
My uncle has worked on VWs most of his life. He would have multiple Rabbits and Beetles in his shop. He would "Fix them up" for racing, and repairs for the public in general.
Well he has also been blind most of his wife. He knows VWs like the back of his hand. I recently stopped by and he was replacing a front end suspension part. He still to this day, walks down to his shop with his cane, and works on VWs.
Pretty awesome. That was one reason why I wanted to get this car.
HATE ALL YOU WANT HAHAHA. I love this little car already.
Interior shot (I know, plain old car interior) I took off the shift boot, because it is loose...and was getting on my nerves.
The previous owner has been the only owner of the car. It needs some TLC. ENGINE RUNS GREAT! I drove it over 2 hours after I bought it.
Things to do list:
-Replace door handles (One is broken, so I want to replace all of them)
-Short shifter and shift boot + MAYBE new shift ****
-New shifter tube thing, or just attempt to tighten up stock linkage (piece that runs from shifter to transmission)
-Possible paint job
-Vacuum this thing out lol
-Slight window tint to maybe keep temp down some

Thats the main reason I bought it. Mainly cosmetic issues, but nothing serious.
I thought about that as well. Im not too sure though. I think I might keep it stock.
We'll see.
