Taylor's 89 VW Golf GL
#76
Golf has been in a shop for about 2 weeks.
I dropped it off with new suspension parts for them to install while Ive been working out of town.
Just purchased stock replacement struts, mounts, and all that good stuff.
Picking it up next friday. Finally, I can feel comfortable while driving this thing.
As soon as I drive it home, the interior is getting stripped out.

Everything else will be taken out for a GOOD cleaning.
JUST bought new (new to me) carpet for the rear cargo area. Its in great shape, and only paid $45 (shipped)
Rear area was exposed to moisture, and ruined the carpet. I checked for rust, saw none.
Found a guy a few hours away that is parting out 2 golfs. Possibly going next weekend to pick him clean lol.

Carpeting is nice and it helps too but since you have it all apart you should put in some Be-Quiet Mat under it all. The stuff is cheaper than the name brands and in the Ranger it is amazing. You don’t have to cover the floor completely, although that isn’t a bad idea, all you ned to do is large rectangles in the open areas, you may know that already.

Yup. H&R springs. I believe they are also H&R struts.
Car handles better.
I had to re-use the old strut mounts (which I did NOT want to do)
Im hunting down VR strut mounts. I only need a few parts to complete it.
Then Ill have to take the suspension back off and install the new mounts.

I purchased it from a member on Vortex. To be honest, Ive never been on BFI's website.
Thanks for reminding me.
Ive actually been surprised. They are more abundant than most people think.
