Golf has been in a shop for about 2 weeks.

I dropped it off with new suspension parts for them to install while Ive been working out of town.

Just purchased stock replacement struts, mounts, and all that good stuff.
Picking it up next friday. Finally, I can feel comfortable while driving this thing.

As soon as I drive it home, the interior is getting stripped out.

Yeah. Going to replace rear cargo area carpet, headliner, and front seats.

Everything else will be taken out for a GOOD cleaning.

JUST bought new (new to me) carpet for the rear cargo area. Its in great shape, and only paid $45 (shipped)

Rear area was exposed to moisture, and ruined the carpet. I checked for rust, saw none.

Found a guy a few hours away that is parting out 2 golfs. Possibly going next weekend to pick him clean lol.

Rear suspension installed.

Golf is now in stinkbug mode.

I had to cut the muffler off as well. It was kinda in the way.

Carpeting is nice and it helps too but since you have it all apart you should put in some Be-Quiet Mat under it all. The stuff is cheaper than the name brands and in the Ranger it is amazing. You don’t have to cover the floor completely, although that isn’t a bad idea, all you ned to do is large rectangles in the open areas, you may know that already.

New tail lights arrived in the mail today.

Dont mind my foot.

The lights are almost brand new. Seller was giving them away FOR FREE. They came with pigtails, bulbs and all.

I gave him $25 to ship them. Steal lol.

Here is the quad round I got fairly inexpensive.

Suspension is installed. Golf is lowered by roughly 2 inches.
Its not a huge difference, but definately noticeable in and out of the car.

Now I need an alignment. Ill snap some pictures today.

Yup. H&R springs. I believe they are also H&R struts.

Car handles better.

I had to re-use the old strut mounts (which I did NOT want to do)
Im hunting down VR strut mounts. I only need a few parts to complete it.

Then Ill have to take the suspension back off and install the new mounts.

ltr.
