what are you doing about the steering box? have you looked at how much parts are? im guessing your going leafs since you don't have a job last time we talked about that? theres alot more that goes into it then just posting a pic of axles (ask anyone that has done or is planning on doing a SAS). i really think you are gettin in over your head and its going to end up biting you in the **** and hurting more ppl if not yourself.

So a week ago you didn't have enough money or skill to do this, but now you're starting it . . . ? I'm not trying to jump on the "negativity bandwagon", but from the threads and posts I have seen, I don't think this is something you should be attempting. I'm saying that as polite as I can.
Edit -
Like whippersnapper02 said, "You don't need a SAS for driving down fire trails.". If you're doing it merely to say "I have a SAS'd Ranger", you may as well skip the hassle of trying to swap it and just lift it. You're going to cause yourself more of a headache/forum bashing doing this for no reason other than to say you have done it . . . then bring it up in every post.

Maybe R-F will be quiet and peaceful while they're enjoying their time looking at the BANNED screen.
Now that Shane and I are done driving over this thread with a bulldozer, the offending people are on temporary bans and this thread is open again. FOUR PAGES OF BULLCRAP DELETED.

i saw the thread before it got deleted/people banned. and in all honesty, all that crap was over 1 picture of 2 axles. Downey never said what was going to happen with them and all that crap started. as much as i wanted to say something, i knew with the heat of the conversation that i would get nothing accomplished.
when you do the sas, do it right, and i can't wait to see it done. good luck.

5 Day (now 4 left) and that was a gift!

TrePaul86 was on 5 days also but he's been digging his hole deeper by the minute so don't expect to see him back anytime soon.
I suggest that unless more people want to join the 4 on break and the one probably gone for good, you get back on track with this. Do you know how silly you sound blaming the totally childish and mean behavior of others on Downy's plan for an SAS?? Your telling him not to make threads because you know people will hate on you so its his fault? Umm, no.

Overall, I have no idea what the hell everyone is complaining about. There is probably 20 different threads in the Project Log all involving SAS projects. I know most people don't have the know how to really perform an SAS when they start. I know I sure as hell don't still. I'm LEARNING!
Downey, good luck with the swap man. Just know that it will take time and patience, research, and some good ol' fashion determination to get it done. But with the help of R-F and all the other good resources out there for doing an SAS, it'll get done. Just keep reading up through other build threads and feel free to ask myself a question anytime. I can't speak for the others that have done SAS threads, but I know when I ask them questions they always answer. R-F is great resource... so use it up.

If someone posted a useful reply and it got deleted, I'm sorry. Of the 200 BS replies, it hard to pick out one good one in the middle of it. I tried to leave all the good replies. I'm not perfect.

This is sad it boiled down to this crap, you learn by trying new things and learning from mistakes, just make sure when all is said and done, test drive it on a dirt road brotha! I wish you the best of luck!
