Maybe you should look into coil overs?

And you don't have an 8.8? I don't think you can run a 5.0 on a 7.5 inch axle very long without having issues. 7.5s are too weak for 4.0s none-the-less 5.0s!! It should be fine for awhile, just don't take it wheeling and don't go do a bunch of burnouts lol.

Oh, are you running it AWD right now or do you have an electronic t-case up?

i do have a tach.. but not sure what you ment by that.

i've thought about coil overs, but i think if i'ma spend money on suspension stuff i'ma just go ahead and sas it instead.

and no its the 7.5 :( motor is stock and not doing anything hardcore ha.

and yes its AWD, i have manual hubs in front as well.

I just ment the only wire swapping you do with the gauges is for the tach. and just asking if you have one is it right on or off. the speedo will work without modding if you have the older trucks.

wow. that's gotta be in the records for longest trip for an R/F thing.

i've always thought it would be cool if we could spend like a year organizing it and get as many people from all the ranger forums there or at a national meet as possible. like 200 ranger forumers at the dunes or at a huge camping trip or something.

no problem, its quite a drive from Minnesota cuz you have to go all the way around the lake, i think its still like 12 hours on googlemap.

i think something is still messed up with the battery/alt or my belt.

when its really cold like this, and i have my lights on, they pulse and rev'ing up a little makes it faster but doesn't make it go away.

i haven't been able to check voltage yet since its freaking cold out on my phone it says 5* right now. lol

when its not running the lights are on like normal. but everything pulses, even the fan for the heater.

any ideas?

yeah it sounds like it still has to be a bad alt. or battery or the combo of both. if its pulsating like that its running on very little to no help from the alt. so the battery in turn is getting weak and the pulse is from the turning of the alt. its weak enough to see like that. could also maybe be a bad/loose ground somewhere maybe too.

yeah its worse when the motor is cold and not warmed up.

btw with your 4406 manual tcase, do you have your motor/tranny moved over a little, or is it just really close to the frame rails?

Well i got new driveshafts in the other day, and it drives much better. no more shaking hardcore at 15-20 mphs lol.

i let it run and drove home from work, and ran it in the drive way for a bit checking the volts.

it wasn't really pulsing when it was at my house, but when i was driving home it was, i wiggled a bunch of grounds but no change on it. its just dark and don't feel like being outside tonight.

but when it was "pulsing" the volts would be from like 14.4 ish and would drop down to like 13.5 or so. but i'm not really sure, so i'ma call the place that put in the alt, and ask them.

tomorrow if its nice i'll take it out for a drive and get some pictures.

yeah it runs great, just problems with it charging yet.

its been at the shop for like 2 days now so they could do some tests on it while it was cold, for the pulsating thing. and its draining the battery a little bit, but they couldn't find out where.

they didn't call me yesterday so still must be working on it. i had them put a new belt on there as well.

once i get it back, i'ma get some new spark plugs wires for it, some easy stuff to change quick that doesn't take to much time.

do you guys know of any good sites to order oem/performance parts for the 302?

The problem with most OEM Performance Parts is they are designed for higher RPM use not off-road, low end torque applications.

What are you planning on doing, drag race it, mud racing or maybe sand drags ?
