Maybe you could use some wood blocks, c clamps, and a little silicone to shut the ends off.

Or maybe you could drill a hole in it and use a dent puller to pull it out. Then weld the hole over.

 

I thought about doing that. Its creased pretty bad.

I also thought about cutting it off right above the header and taking a shot at making custom headers. I will see what used after markets are going for and what a exhaust kit is before going that route.

They say as long as the headers are the same lenght into the collector it don't matter.

 

Are you just going to do the header, or a full system? a header will probably run you around 400-600, and a full system around $1000+. Might be cheaper down there, but I know that's what it will run around here.

 

I already have the silencer for it so all i need is a header.

I am wanting a used one, cheaper the better lol

You're probably already going to, but make sure you have a tube supporting the bend at the top of the a-pillar.

Also, where you have the a-pillar tacked to the factory cage, make sure you sleeve and plug weld on both sides of the joint.

Is the a-pillar sleeved where it splices into the factory cage at the dash bar?

 

Yes there is a type of sleever in there. Basically left some of the stock material and slid it over.

 

yup, just needs welded. we are gonna do something similar to the bottom side.

 

wouldn't hurt to plug weld it also. about an inch away from the joint and one on each side of the tube (180* from each other)

I remember reading somewhere that plug/rosette welds should be different distances from the edge of the tube also. Is that true?

What do you think of Window supports? Ya or Nay? (red lines) (yellow are soon to be tube, also imagine alot more supports on the door)

 

I know nothing about cages but I dont think the window supports would be a bad idea. Plus they look cool!

 

After doing some reading it is not needed. Its mainly on used to keep stuff from flying into your window, which I knew but I thought it was also recomened for bracing.

I do plan on racing it a couple times a year, so I think it would be a good idea
