Ok... so assuming I'm thinking correctly, the parts you ordered are for you steering correct?

If so, why did you go with Heims over a TRE setup? Any specific reasons?

Heims can be stronger and less prone to wearing out if you get quality ones. They also have a tighter feel... there is a little bit less play. Also, if you have a high-articulation setup, heims have a larger working angle I believe.

Anyone care to confirm/refute?

Heims get alot more dirt in them and wear out faster, even the nicer ones dont last as long as a TRE. The angles or a heim are in fact greater then that of a TRE.

Are Heims street legal though? That was the one argument that I heard against them for a truck like Beard's which I know he drives on the road.

I can't see why they wouldn't be.

Hey Zach... a little off topic, but would you send me some pictures of your toyota IFS steering box/power steering setup? I picked up an IFS box and I think one of the metal power steering lines is cut or broken and I'm trying to get a better feel for what it's supposed to look like.

Most of the smaller ones for steering and what not are not rebuildable. The larger ones used for suspension links sometimes are.

ok guys lets back up here. LOL

Those heims are for my track bar, not steering. I bought 1 ton chevy TREs with tube ends and 1.5" .25 wall DOM. Its in the list I posted, just no pics on their site and I dont have them in yet. I will take pictures when I get them.

I sure can. I will probably work on those lines some this weekend anyway. the one is leaking and the other is dry roting. I hate tranny fluid...

Yeah. Bronco graveyard has that at about the same price. I've been looking over all this stuff for rebuilding my 44 and it sure as hell ain't cheap.

Spindles for 65 a piece, Ball Joints 42 for 1 upper and 1 lower, and 10 for Spindle Nut and Washer. Works out to about 234 + Shipping.

Something else I've been meaning to ask. What's the point of the 3/4 Spacer you got in your order Beard?
