99 Ranger (lifted) - NC

FOR SALE-
Im selling my 99 Ford Ranger XLT
-Burnt orange
-150k miles
-2WD
-4dr

I just lifted it and put new tires and wheels on it last summer. It has a 3inch body lift on it. I also put 31inch all terrain tires and black soft8 rims. The tires have 4,000 miles on them so there brand new.

I also installed a new sony xplode system and speakers inside over christmas. Another thing i added was a new hitch reciever and exhaust tip.

This truck is very nice inside and out. It got appraised for 8000 but im asking 6500 for it.
Thanks again.

not to be a jerk, but who appraised it at $8k ?

doing some research will tell you the value is closer to the $5k mark.

Also, its a 2.5L auto tranny. Obviously location is NC. Good luck with sale, love that color, but price is a wee bit steep imo.

Craigslist it and try to find some high school kid who really wants a truck and is spending daddy's money, 6500 is a little pricey IMO as well

Thats what Blue Book appraised it at. I was going to ask 5500 for it but didnt know if that was a good asking price. Considering i just put 4000$ into it over the summer to fix it up.

BL=220
Wheels=250
Tires=700, tops
System=maybe 400
Exhaust tip=50 tops

Totaling Just over 1600 bucks. Not even close to 4k. So what else did you replace on it that is worth 2400? Just curious. If its true, post it. It will help your sale.

With all that being said, mods don't help the value of the vehicle at all. Neither does dumping money into basic maintenance.

I call BS
KBB gave me a price of about $4365.0 going by what you posted, and that is for excellent condition, which Im going to chance a guess and say yours is more along the lines of "good" condition, which gives a price of $3990.0.
hell, Average retail (which you cant legitimately ask as your not a dealer) is only $5665.0
KBB
1999 Ford Ranger Super Cab Pickup 4D:
  • Condition____Value
  • Excellent:___$4,365
  • Good:______$3,990
  • Fair:_______$3,390

NADA:
Pricing
Rough___Average___Clean____Retail

$1,700___$2,450____$3,050___$5,200*

aside from that, to garner a "true" market value, go to KBB and NADA (edmunds doesnt have a 99 supercab 4 dr as an option, that starts on their list in 2001) then judge the actual value by the difference between those three sites, dont use "retail" since your not a dealer, use private party.
as also was mentioned, Mods dont increase value, most of the time the take away, and spending money for basic maintenance doesnt increase the value unless it puts it into a different "condition" bracket.

Remember that mods decrease the value of the truck.
