Hey guys so a while back I rebuilt my engine 4.0 OHV with all new piston rings seals oil pump etc etc…. However there were some broken lifter guides the little brown cone on top the lifter and I decided to replace it (2 new lifters) and the pushrods and rocker arms. My question is should I have replaced the camshaft as well? Lifter is making a small knock noise only at idle and it’s not consistent. I’ve had a few people tell me I should have and my mechanic dad said and a few of his buddies told me it would be fine since the camshaft when it was inspected with 130k miles looked brand new barely any wear. Should I have replaced the cam?
