Avatar Question...

Hey guys, just wondering something. I've noticed that many people are distraught over people having large avatars. On the php site, the large ones fit in rather well because they were beside your post and the space taken up by the extra 150 pixels was normally dead space anyway. However, on this site, the avatars and usernames are totally seperate from the post and therefore the big avatars DO tend to be tiresome if there are several posters in a thread which have them.

So, maybe this will help. Keep the larger option, but simply rotate it. Make it 300 wide by 150 tall.

Just a suggestion. :) I'm probably going to resize mine to 150x150, whether or not a "flip" would be/is in the works. On the old site it was perfect, but on this one it is just too distracting.

Just a matter of etiquette to have an avatar that is wider than it is tall. But no need to stress over redesigning/resizing anything until the site's design is finalized.

I think the controversy over larger avatars is silly -- simply because if one doesn't like the avatar size, one can turn them off in "options" resulting in a "streamlined" presentation if that's important.

You can not edit it down to nothing
- there is a blocker indicating you must have something in the post.
I guess you can just leave a "."

Personally, I like the avatar, username, and info at the top of the posts. Gives the site a look of it's own.
