i know there has been a billion posts about this topic in the past, but i got to thinking about it again, i have run TOTM in the past on a previous site, and got to reading the rules of the previous TOTM on here, and i could do some slight tweaks to it... for instance:

-instead of only allowing 7 nominations, allow 10 nominations**
-A member may not nominate him/her self.
-The truck(s) nominated must be owned by the member (not a previously owned vehicle) and must be either a Ford Ranger, Mazda B-Series, Ford Bronco 2, or Ford Explorer truck. That member must also be an active member (have at least 25 posts and average at least .5 posts per day) in order to be nominated.
-When placing a nomination, the nominating member must state the Ranger-Forums.com screen name of the individual being nominated, the link to that member's profile as well as a picture of that individual’s truck.
-A member may only nominate one person per month
-The first seven trucks with name, link, and picture posted in that month’s nominations thread will be entered in the poll for 'Truck of the Month'.
-Nominations will begin on the 1st of every month**, and will close once 10** trucks have been nominated, or the 20th of the month**, whichever is sooner.
-Contributor status is not a pre-requisite for nomination, and R-F staff are not excluded from nomination. Any member of Ranger-Forums, meeting the requirements can be nominated.

If You are Nominated for Truck of the Month:
-Please submit a "Best Pic" of your ride for voting, if not the picture used in the nomination thread will be used
-Pics must be between 640x480 and 1024x768 in size.
-NO CARDOMAIN LOGOS, we are trying to keep this nice and neat, Entry pics can be emailed to be me via email, or private messaged, and I will host them on Ranger-Forums myself.

Voting:
-A poll will be set up with each truck’s mods, picture, and a brief profile of the member who owns the truck (profile optional).
-Each member will have one vote to vote for which truck they believe should be 'Truck Of The Month'.
-Voting will begin on the 20th of the month and conclude exactly 1 week later, on the 27th.
-Votes will be tallied on the 27th and 28th, and the winner will be announced on the last day of the month.
-In the event of a tie, a 1-day tiebreaker poll between the tied trucks will be taken.

If You Win Truck of the Month:
-Please submit your favorite and most recent pictures (no more than 5) of your truck along with factory specs and any mods you have done to it to the person in charge of 'Truck of the Month' as soon as possible. Personal information about the owner of the truck may also be included if desired.
-There will be a form sent out to the winner and this will be your TOTM page
-Pictures need to be a minimum of 640x480 and once again, no cardomain logos, these all will be hosted on the Ranger-Forums' server.

General Rules:
-If a truck wins 'Truck of the Month', he or she is not eligible to be nominated again for at least 1 year. After the one year time period, he or she may be nominated again through the normal nomination process.
-If a truck is nominated one month and does not win, he or she is eligible the next month to be nominated again through the normal nomination process.
-The winning truck must post to accept his or her victory within one week of the announcement, otherwise he/she forfeits their Truck of the Month status to the runner-up.

Benefits for Winning Truck of the Month:
-Bragging Rights
-Other possible benefits to be determined at a later date, by the administration.



i know i copied the rules from scott, but i have made a few little tweaks to it, i would like to make this all about the members, and have them vote for it, unlike just pulling a name out of a hat like some other sites

the truck of the month no longer exists. so, you'd have to see if christian wants to bring it back. but, i don't see it happening.

I'm on some sites where the member base is so small, almost everyone has won totm, how special is that?

And I'm on other sites, where i dont even know the people's trucks i'm voting for, and the whole nomination thing is a joke because its just whoever posts up first.
