Post Map Section

Hey so i was thinking. There is a lot of places around were i live but there is no way to know were they are unless you know someone who knows someone who likes you. So i was thinking maybe we could start a area were we could put up trail maps. I am not saying lets go out and map all the trails we see. But trails that we normally go on. For example.

Trail/Road Name- Mountain road.

Location: Mataquac New Brunswick Canada

Directions: Follow Highway 102 west for 15klm from Fredericton City center.
Turn Left on to Mazzeroll Settlement Road. Drive 2.5 kl m Turn right
on to Mountain Road.

Difficulty: Mostly Old rail beds used for snowmobile trails in the winter and abandon logging roads. Recommended for mildly moded trucks.

GPS- 123 456 ( this way guys can plug it in to there gps and go from were ever they are).

Local Ranger Forum Members: Reader585 Contact number 123-456-789 ( this way if you get stuck and you are out of the area you still have someone you can call to help you out)

And this way we can break it down by state/ Province. It is just a idea.I think it would also be easier for guys

Hey this is a good idea. I know quite a few back home but their well known. Down here in Mountain Home, Idaho every tail is kinda self-discovery. Theres just as many trails as streets going everywhere. You can drive from town to town using the trails out here. Its crazy!

That sounds like a good idea to me. It would be cool to have a visual map of like North America and people could add points on the map with their trail info, so you could click on the points around you or where you want to go, if that makes sense. I would have no idea how to do this, but it's a good idea.

Thats what i mean if we can get something set up so that people on here who are just glancing threw or people who are looking for a different kind of trial. The can find it with out having to stumble on it my accident. Also if they do go on a certain trail they will know ahead of time weather or not thee truck can make it down there.

That wont work for down here cause unless you own the land or have permission to be on it these hillbillys down here will shoot you for trespassing.

I don't think Google earth will be able to get posted because it is a stand alone program.

Tell me about it. I visit longview often to see my mother. Anything that looks even close to interesting has this sign:

It would be really cool to have a virutal map on the homepage or something. I see them all the time on myspace and ****. Now I just need to find the right string....

I think something like this would be cool. I have no trails around me for wheeling. Would be good to know where some are that are some what near me.

I know of one great place to wheel behind the Longview water treatment plant but you go at your own risk.

They can't put trails on privately owned land for legal reasons.
