I was contacted by someone about a part I'm looking for and tried looking up the person on the Members section of this site. I was amazed that there are over 5000 people listed there but 80% aren't actually Members. I would love to now how this is possible and apparently they have access to my Membership information. Seems like some purging is in order. Is anyone in charge ?

 

The member listing is related to whether or not the account has made a post. You do not need to make a post to send a message, which is something Internet Brands (forum owner) should really fix.

Who sent you the private message? They're likely a scammer, and I have placed warnings in a few of the subforums about this type of private message scam. You should have the ability to report the user that way we can make the bot/scammer go away until they create another profile. Not much we can do about that.
