Without getting technical, measures have been put in place to help eliminate the possibility of a reoccurrence.
I'm very interested if you care or have the time to explain. I enjoy technical talk. It's sort of a heads up incase I ever run into this sort of thing. Not everyone likes to be told the just of things. I find the problem and solution to be very enlightening to most things. I may just give something to this site if i can acquire something.

This just made me so sad. Wonderful quote. The sadness comes from I had a bunch of toys and bags of canned goods to give away for Christmas. I didn't get back in town while they were still doing the drives. The said 2 days before Christmas was to late to donate toys???? WTF IS THAT **** RIGHT? I ended up giving some of the canned goods to them. They wouldn't take them all (cuz they were over stocked???) Stupid. I was p!ssed. I ended up taking all of the stuff excluding the toys to one of the local help centers a 2 days before new years eve. They didn't turn them down. Now I'm gonna hold on to the toys for next year.

Love that quote.

Thanks, and that is terrible. Being treated like that is what causes some to lose their graciousness.

The downside is we lost the last 6 days of posts, threads, users and attachments.
I didn’t read all of the post so this may have been talked about before but just a note on the subject of lost data… every search I do only brings up threads from a year or more back, the newest I think is 2010, a lot in 08.

R U sure it is only six days ?

I guess bak-up procedures will have to be addressed.

Must be the keyword you are searching. I just searched for "tires" and the entire first page of results weren't over a day old.

So just had a thought... If a new guy signed up say 2 days before the server ordeal, did his account get smoked?

I think I lost a few photos, I think I can handle that. I still got my Level 3 support, so I'm good.

All those missing attachments in like ALL the threads are annoying lol. Maybe send out a mass message asking people to repost them maybe?

You want us to go through every thread for the last year and take the names of everyone with photos?

Ha! No no. I just mean send a message to the whole forum and let everyone know the attachments are gone. When Rick sent out the MM earlier he only said we lost the 6 Das worth of posts. He didn't mention the. Years worth of attachments lol

The problem with that is that members have a time limit on when they can edit there posts. So that means a mod/admin would have to edit all the posts. So with all the attachments that were lost within the last year it would take forever for us to edit all of them.

Regular users can only edit 7 days after the post was made.
Subscribers can only edit 45 days after the original post was made.

You might want to start a thread in the 4.0 section. You will get more hits then in this thread.
