Pats question .
Pats question .
My 1999 Ranger Ignition was drilled out Couldn't steal so they drilled the tank and drained all the fuel .
Thank You to the Armpit of America (Portland Or)
I noticed the transponder had been nicked by the drill but I thought it wasn't bad enough to disable it , The wiring harness was cut in the process and I soldered them back together and heat shrinked them as well .
It seems it wont recognize my key the code says engine disabled and the flashing code I get is 12
Any help would be great Thank you in advance

PATS codes
11 Transceiver [transponder coil] not connected, or there is no power to it.
12 Transceiver internal fault.
13 No Key/no PATS key has been used to turn the ignition switch.
14 Incomplete key code received.
15 Invalid key code received.
16 CAN communications error.
So replace the transceiver, no reprogramming is required, plug and play
There should be a 4 wire connector for the transceiver at the base of steering column
Wrecking yard transceivers are usually a safe bet
