Overdrive light just comes on and blinks???????

I am new to this sight and would like to say Hi. So HI! Also, I am having a problem with my OD light coming on and blinking. This does not happen all of the time but every once in a while. As soon as it comes on the truch shifts really hard from gear to gear. Any ideas??? Also my ABS light is stuck on and will not go off. Any help in these areas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

A blinking OD light means that the diagnostics is reporting a fault in the transmission. Have the codes pulled to give you a direction to go.

ABS should also have a code to direct you. In the meantime, you could check the fuse. Don't know what year you have but the ABS on 2001~2003 is on fuse 14.

Welcome to the site. Please take a moment to create a signature with details about your truck. It will help us to help you.

i thought the connectors under the seat had to do with the airbag....

one time my ABS light came on when i went through some nasty mud and had one wheel buried. i hosed everything off and started the truck back up and everything was fine. maybe sumthins dirty.

with the OD light id say get that transmission checked. you also shouldnt be having hard shifts. prolly a sign of slippage.

They do. I went to the dentist today - still on medication.

Someone might want to move this to the transmission forum?

Just goto autozone get the codes pulled for free then post then back to this thread..
My O/D light was flashing one night.. I had somehow gotten the gear shifter
between D and 2 and it was shifting like crap too :)

After using the "search" feature I found this thread. My truck is doing the exact same thing with the OD light blinking once the truck starts running and shifts VERY hard around 20-30 mph.. I"ll have to go to AutoZone and get the code pulled and take it from there. Did you ever find anything out about the tranny?

My truck has 72k miles on it. I'm glad i bought the extended warranty, I also need to replace the fuel pump.
