Question

Hey I have a 2wd 02 Ford ranger with the 2.3l standard and I was wondering if I put a 4inch spindle lift in will I need to extend the steering shaft

No, the steering shaft goes to the FRAME mounted Rack so nothing would change

You'll need to extend or just unbolt the brake lines from the frame though. And don't forget about the grinding on the bottom of the lower control arm.
