I gave them money cause i wanted to help the forum out. I wanted a place to go and learn about Rangers. Sure the perks are nice but thats not the sole reason i contributed...

Also i dont think anyone should be banned for asking questions. Oh wait but our government tries to do it, but everyone knows its wrong but they still do it.

I didnt do it for the perks though it was nice, but its the principle of the matter.

I agree and thats a good point many don't realize. But it would'a been nice for them to say HEY this is what we're gonna do so those who paid will still have those therin said "perks" until your renewale comes about. I just like to keep this fair and equal. I know rick bought this site with the intentions of makeing money. That is what makes the world go round and im not knocking him for that, It's just like i stated above though...

My purpose here is NOT to cause any trouble or ripples between me and anyone on here. But anyways heres my point and question!! LOL!

OK.....lets say you came into a dealer and i was goin to sell you a car/truck. I told you that you could have this brand new car/truck for $100/mth @ 0%apr for the 60mnths. Of course you'd be all over it as anyone would be!! SO now you've just gotten me paid for this vehicle that pay's for my employee's,lights, ect...NOW i come back a few mnths later and say "weeeeellllll, remember that deal we made? well now its gonna be $900/mth @12.9%APR for 84mths and there's nothing you can do about it!! WOW RIGHT!!?? So would you have bought that new car/truck to begin with if i had told you that up front!!?? ok now the point of this story!!

thats how the contributors (the ones that pay money here) were done!! We paid money and were told this is what you get for it. Then it was stripped away with no notice that I recieved or prior warning. Now as you can see on the left i have conformed to the new avatar size and yes i was FORCED because it was removed due to the new site outlay. I have no big issues over the different avatar size or smaller pm box, not like i need it anyways, but its the fact that we contributors (the ones that pay money here) were told that we would receive this service for the extra lil pymnt from our end. So do you kinda see why/where this is goin?

Thanks Sincerely,
Josh (HozII)
Josh,

If I was that dealer I would certainly feel some obligation to refund you.

So here is what I am going to do for you and everyone that takes issue with the avatar changes - upgrades.

*posting this for transparency*

1) effective immediately your subscriber group is discontinued. A new subscriber group has been created, more stream lined and more inline with the features and functionality I feel should be here.

I have scaled back decals and the pm box space on the new group. All subscribers who wish NOT to renew should cancel immediately via paypal.

2) Josh, I am willing to refund you $1.70 and terminate your subscriber account. You may then re subscribe with your refunded money if you wish to do so.

I hope you find this to be a fair and reasonable response to your concerns.

To answer some of the questions, some of the changes included PM box increase, additional style, new custom coded attachment page, facebook addition, decals, Ranger vehicle posting form for better search etc.

I truly see the error in my ways and believe I should refocus, scale back the changes and consider the time, development a loss. I think the new Sub group will certainly be the clean slate that was needed and possibly what should have been used from the beginning.

Lord Of War, I understand youre disgruntled as well as the avatar was an important reason you paid your money to Christian. That is why I am willing to refund you $1.87 from my own pocket, I did not see any of the funds you sent Christian. I hope you feel this is a fair compromise and perhaps in the future you will resubscribe as I will cancel your sub once I refund you.

99ranger4x4, I see you only subscribed because of the large avatar and your contribution had nothing to do with in general supporting the site. I would be happy to refund you $2.33.

I am not asking any of you to return the decals Christian may or may not have sent you. Consider them a freebie at this stage.

All contributions I have seen in the past and future certainly will make R/F a better place as we will add more perks etc.

Feel free to PM me your paypal email addy and I will get that money out to you, all refunds though will result in your current subscriber account being closed.

instead of offering to re-fund the money, and close the accounts, is it possible just to make the avatars bigger? Doesnt even have to be as big as before, just a little bit bigger? this is the main thing people have an issue with.. Just saying people will be alot happier with bigger avatars than $2 tops in refunds..

I will look at the avatar sizing on the new subscriber group.

I wont be closing their accounts on refund, I will be dissolving their subscriber status, their accounts will continue to function minus any subscriber features.

They will then have the option to renew.

I guess we can take it on a case by case basis.

I don't have a rake, and don't make a habit of standing around glowing coalbeds, but just for the sake of argument, rick... since my post is the one that suggested it in this thread, what is the option on my "case by case" basis? ...with an account that expires in a year and a half, not in a month or two?

turbo

I guess in this instance that changes things, that is a ton of support and I am sure Christian appreciated.

First off, I would say send me your receipt for payment to R/F.
Second, I would suggest you file a non receipt via your credit card or paypal (dispute it)

Shoot me a pm, let me know how it goes from there and I am sure we can get it sorted.

I hope that helps :)

Rick

I don't know that it helps, as I wasn't seeking any help.

It did answer the question, though... and wasn't entirely different than the answer I was expecting.

as a business man, I'm sure you know that a) receipts were not generated for these purchases, and b) that you cannot do a chargeback after 30 days from the original purchase. I assume, by proposing two impossible avenues of approach, what you're really saying is that folks in my situation would not be getting a refund. appreciate your honesty, circumspect though it may be.

I am not sure how you paid, the system doesn't tell me that and I didn't look when you paid, only when it expired.

I only know that there are 2 ways to purchase a subscription on R/F right now. 1 is via paypal which always has receipts. 2 is via money order which you are given a receipt.

During times like this, it does seem that my responses do need to be cautious :)

Anyhow, with regards to the original question which I believe I have answered. Anyone who has concerns which follow the course of this thread, please PM me and we can go from there, I am closing the thread.
