Questions about new exhaust and air intake

Hey everybody.. I'm a newbe to the sight and haven't got my pic up but I got a few questions about what brand of performance exhaust I should purchase for my 2003 ranger. I've been looking at Gibson, MagnaFlow and Flowmaster. They seem like they have the most bang for their buck but I'm not to extremely experienced with exhaust's so I would love some advice. I would also like to install a K&N air intake system at the same time I install the exhaust but I'm not sure how much of a benifit it would be for $250 bucks.
Thanks for any advice!

Umm, for one this is in totally the wrong forum. Why you put it in site comments and suggestions i don't know.

What engine do you have? Do you want their full catback system or just the muffler and have a exhaust shop do the piping(alot cheaper).

Sorry bout posting in the wrong forum, my bad. but anyway i got a 4.0L 6 banger and I was originally just planning on buying the whole system..everything up to the cat converter and putting it on myself, i thought that just buying the muffler and having someone install it for me would be more exspensive.

Its all good, just one of them days, lol.

Welcome though.

Depending on what system you wanted, it may be cheaper to get it all done by someone else.

With the magnaflow and flowmaster you can pick up a muffler off ebay for pretty cheap and take it to and exhaust shop and maybe get it installed for about $200. The Gibson I am not sure if you can just buy a muffler or you can only buy the kit.

Well if you want sound then definitely go with the FLowmaster Original 40, but if you want performance and a more quiet exhaust then go with Gibson or Magnaflow.

Thanks fellas for the advice, I think i'm gonna go w/ the gibson cat-back... it runs about $330 compared to the MagnaFlow cat-back which is like $500. i just look at it as getting a gibson exhaust system and K&N air-intake for about the same price as just a magnaflow exhaust.

i have the gibson cat back (split side rear) and its great.. its probably one of the best performing exhausts ive seen and experienced and the aluminized steel is great and light.. its got a nice tone and doesnt sound like noise polution and will tires and a nice system, performance is all that matters
