Short-cut tabs

For people like myself, I think it might be nice to have short-cut tabs at the top for the How-to section, and the Classifieds sections. Granted, you can see the classifieds newest posts in the portal section, so I guess you can leave that out, but at least do the How-to tab for my convenience. Please and thanks :biggthump

wait what... you want a tab to get to how to section instead of just going to the forum and click it?

well hmm honestly alot of sites actually do it. thats up to Beard or Rick i guess

Yea, just up at the top where the User CP, Portals, Forum Home, Ranger Pics etc are, just to make it a one click thingy. You seem to be pretty busy adding cleaned up How-to's, and I have a lot of them saved as shortcuts in my internet browser. Would be nice to get rid of some of my clutter and not have to search so much now that you've done the work of making them easier to find.

There's been some talk in the past about a new how-to section, but that's since been forgotten.

Right now, I'm working on seeing what the other staff feel about adding sections to the locked up how-to threads. Examples: an Interior section, an Exterior section, a drivetrain/axle/trans section, an electrical section, and so on. If you were after a third brake light how-to, you'd go to how-to's, then to exterior, and there you will find it. I feel it'll be alot more user friendly that way. Sounds like something that you'd like to see.

Shane - I think that sounds like a good idea.... the how-to's are a little overwhelming when you're looking for something.

Of course, I guess one could always search, lol.

It could be made a little more user friendly. Although, like already mentioned, all you have to do is use the search function.

I will see but I really hate to see that top menu get any more cluttered than it already is.

why don't u just bookmark it lol

Fx4wannabe01 04-06-2010 07:08 PM

or short cut tab it at the top of your browser????

I'll bump my earlier post too....give us opinions on it guys...

I have a lot of bookmark tabs as is, and I have a whole crap load of how-to's saved. I just think it would make finding them a bit easier and more obvious. People would see it there, and would have a lot less pointless posts because people do not search.

AND... making the how-to section a little more visually appealing, seperated into categories or something instead of one giant list.

OR.... make the tab portion of this website customizable... so you can pick and choose which short-cut tabs you have at the top of your page... maybe only for contributors?

I like the idea from Shane about cleaning up the HOW TO section with different sections and organizing them into categories.

I also like the idea that contributors can customize a little of what the top bar looks like

...Speaking of contributing... I need to get on that, I freakin love this site, I might as well!
