how do i get pics to appear
how do i get my posts so that there is not a link to a pic but just the pic itself?

Does that mean that I have to have the pic posted on the web first so I can link to it?

Yes, pictures must be "hosted" first. Photobucket.com or imageshack.com are free and good choices.
