I am not trying to be mean or anything, but here lately why does this site take so long to load? I have a fresh gaming PC and Verizon FIOS internet, everything is running great. I tryed blocking all the ads and it still takes way to long to refresh. I was going to buy a membership to see if it helped anything? Does anyone else have any issues on here? Please help.

Works fine for me and I know of no known issues. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies.

 

The site is slow for me on certain days and others its fine.

 

CRFrider how about now? It says waiting on forumedainc.us.intellitxt.com at the bottom left corner or something for about 5 seconds. Then the page will begin to load slowly. I am thinking it is server related.

The page partially loads, then it takes about 5 seconds before everything else loads.

 

I haven't noticed any problems!

 

I just noticed I am getting the same thing in the corner while loading.

It must be related to the ads, as the contributors are not having any problems.

Yes, become a contributor and it will load much faster. Sometimes I'll browse the site from work without logging in and its a lot slower with the ads.

 

I run full ads. At times I have noticed that the page pauses breifly, nothing like 14 seconds.

It certainly is due to ad calls. I have contacted the people handling the ads and I am sure they will give some feedback.

Becoming a site supporter certainly helps the site and should remedy the slow loads. Cheapest support option is $15 a year or 4 cents a day and that also gets you Ranger-Forums.com decals.

 

No problems here. If you have Firefox you can try running Ad-block Plus to get rid of ads

Yeah its running ridiculously slow for me too... most on the time it wont even load the side bar that says the recent threads and other time r-f just wont load at all for me. I guess its time to become a contributor.

 

Somedays faster than others, slow a little but never run into a sleep session.
I’m running an Apple without any major problems.
When you start the session log in, supporting the site doesn’t appear to change the speed BUT it is a good thing to do.

And as KLC stated, do you clean up your files, makes a difference on a PC.

 

I would have figured that by supporting the site and dropping the ads the site would be faster. I surf the site WITH ads and its ok. Not blazing by any means.

Ok I went to lunch for an hour, while staying on this thread and this page is still loading for me.... Its only partially loading pages.

The adds that come up in comments in green underlined words...I hate those. I cant read the word against the blue background so I try to highlight it. God forbid I run my mouse pointer across it and then I get this ad loading. Click off of it then this rick roll type ad runs across my screen and I try to exit that one off then get trapped in the ads website.
