www.ranger-forums.com/forum2/mobile? Heh

That would be cool, doubt it actually possible(due to it being a forum)but just wondering as well. How is this done?

Was on the site earlier on my blackberry, and while it showed mostly everything, the format is obviously alittle funky since im lookin at it through a cell phone.

Good question.. I was curious about this as well, since I have a BB pearl...

I get on here from it at class, but it is like 80k being transferred, every page takes a minute or 2 to load.

Any chance we could have a mobile version Zach?

This would be useful as I have a Motorola Q9c smartphone. At least at "lite" version of the site would be good without all the graphics but keeping formatting and text.

You can even do something as simple as going into user settings and choosing not to load avatars and signatures.

They would have to set a "mobile"/different domain with a Different Style/layout I believe.

As for viewing R/F on my Q9c I dont think its bad at all, I kind of hate mobile versions of sites....

Usually the mobile versions of vBulletin sites are crappy...

I have no problems loading or looking at this site with my iPhone...loads super fast.

Another option (and one I've employed on other boards, to view/use them on my Nokia N800 Internet Tablet) is to override the CSS styles for the specific domain directly on the mobile device itself. Using this method, you can move, rearrange, or choose not to display elements that are superfluous or unnecessary on a mobile device. I've not set up a custom CSS rule for this site, but the one I did for InternetTabletTalk (which is graphically even busier than this site) works very well on the mobile device.

This option, of course, requires a bit of programming/scripting ability on the part of each user, and the ability to do so on a particular device... in my case, it works because I can do the scripting and the N800 allows me lots of freedom in how the browser on it is configured.

Must be your provider/phone then, I can have barely any service on the digital 1x spectrum (not EVDO) and its still fine for me. Probably still faster than dialup

One problem I've noticed on my phone is that I can type a reply to a PM but it doesn't show a send option beneath the text box. I think maybe the send button is behind the text box

That can be used, but you can't PM / Respond to threads.
