194 LED bulbs

I forget the brand name, but I picked them up at autozone a little over a year ago.

Well for some reason they burned out. 6 of the 8 (combined) LED's stopped emiting, and the 2 that did work were so dim. I did replace and test both bulbs by using regular working bulbs, and it was truly the LED bulbs that failed.

They were not that bright anyway, but did look perfectly white when the lights were off. I recommend just using normal bulbs and "dusting" them with chrome paint if you really have to get rid of the "eggyolk" look.

ah...go to ebay and get you some from velocityleds_1. that's where i got mine from and they're so much better than those. i got the 5 refractor ones. basically the refractor ones have a big led in the middle and 4 on the edge to fill in the lense. they're really bright. check out my homepage so see them on my truck.

michael im suprised, IMO the jamstraits are the best out there, i would contact them and im sure they will send replacements. also, Jam Strait offers about 5 levels of intensity, autozone only carries one of them, but they do offer some that are so blinding they are only suggested for use behind colored lenses

Oh they were bright, but didn't have any much in terms of "off-axis" illumination. Basically they didn't take advantage of the reflector at all. And the fact that they just failed one day was kinda wierd. I spent 20 minutes testing each bulb, and one just failed and the other just barely lit up. I haven't modified any of the stock wiring (for lighting), nor have I been messing around with the bulbs themselves.

So I put in a pair of regular amber condescent bulbs and am content. Sure it's a little yellow when the truck is parked, but thats fine by me now.

I might try another pair in the future (but obviously not the exact same model) when I have more external mods to my truck, but for right now I can live without.
