I agree with just filing the claim now. He's had plenty of time.

If someone has a good feedback score and high enough posts I don't see an issue with you buying from them

And I just read about that guy on PSN who scammed the people. He is getting toasted.

 

no matter who you buy from you run a risk, companys, people, internet, stores, cash in hand etc..

you always run a risk of some kind.

Look, I don't think he was intending to scam you. I bet he got the money through paypal, but instead of using the money to ship it he probably had to buy something else. Probably whatever "came up". And now he doesn't have the cash to ship it.

 

True, but then he should have sent a quick e-mail or PM explaining his situation. Most people on this forum seem to be understanding and will give you all the time you need if they know there is a problem.

Regardless of intentions, the end result is the same: he took the money, keeps promising to ship it, and he hasn't. IMO, without being up front if he had something happen, and not doing what he said he'd do, it's BS. Personally, I can deal with someone who's honest and up front, but when someone just keeps saying they'll ship it, and doesn't, I'm done. Claim time.

Exactly. It doesn't matter if he had to buy something or not, he still needs to be in contact with the seller. Theres no excuse for that

Yeah I basically agree with you all. I wouldn't even care if he was in contact with me. But nothing. And I've checked on the TRS and he's been online so he should've been getting my PM's. I'll deal more with this tomorrow. I don't have much proof really...just some pm's...and for some reason the one I sent is no longer in my outbox. I do have ones from him tho. We will see. Dangit...I just want this thing so I can get it in and go 4x4ing

 

Have you made a post explaining this situation on TRS? Maybe someone there knows him or it'll draw a bit more attention an he'll get with the program.

One of the few things that sucks about being here in SK, we have to have so much of our custom parts shipped from elsewhere, used or new. Best of luck on getting this resolved!

Well I made a claim with Paypal...but that whole situation is confusing. The transaction details look like this:

So paypal is giving me a refund? Or Paypal is saying that the buyer gave me a refund. In either case I have NOT gotten a refund.

I just had a basic account with an unverified bank account. So I upgraded my account to premier and added my account but they say that they make two small deposits on my account and then I have to look those up and enter them to confirm it is my account. However those two deposits have not show up on my account yet (I checked online).

Also currently the transaction is "being reviewed by Paypal" and that a refund is pending (issued on Feb. 5th) here is some info on that:

So it looks like he has issued me a refund...(I'm kinda finding stuff out as I make this post. Haha). Pending until tomorrow...hopefully I get it tomorrow. Will I be able to receive the refund if I have an unverified account? I could take money out and pay so I would think that same money should go back in...What a freaking headache..and I still have no diff and therefore no 4x4. I believe I will just get a refund then buy a new ring and pinion (I have a D35 with 4.56s and a locker but the ring gear is chipped so I was just going to buy this one and part out the one I have...I dunno if I have mentioned that before but I figured I might as well provide some background haha)

I don't think I will post anything on TRS because it looks like I will get refunded. If I don't get my money back then I for sure will. I don't get why he wouldn't ship it...hes going to not have the 400 bucks and he'll still have it. Doesn't make sense...only replied once to my PM on TRS and then didn't follow through on his promise to ship it. I sent him more PM's and he never responded (but he did log on to TRS so he saw them...wtf).

One more final thing... I agree Sniper...I do love Sask, but it is a pain getting things here

Got this email from Paypal today...as if my life wasn't stressful enough:

Hello Dean Eby,

An eCheck payment from christopher silva was declined by the sender's bank. We will automatically try to process this payment again in 3 business days. It then usually takes 3-5 days for the money to be deposited into your account. Please do not ship items until you receive payment.

Also my account is still not verified...the deposits haven't show up yet. I hope I didn't mess that up too

sucks to hear. i'm dealing with a seller as well, however, no money involved. you shouldn't have to be verified to get the money back. you sent the money from the account, you can get money back.

 

with paypals buyer protection, you should get your money back regardless, and his account should just go negative. at least that's how it went with me.

 

Verifying a checking account can take 4 to 7 business days. (they say it is quicker, but it always takes several days)
Once the 2 deposits show up, you can transfer money to/from your checking account, but since you paid via credit card originally, it shouldn't make any difference... you will receive the refund to whatever method you originally made the payment.

It would be a good idea to call your credit card & let them know you're having an issue, most times when the credit card co. gets involved, PayPal will tend put things into high gear.

Sucks that you're having trouble, but hopefully it will work out for the best... keep us updated & don't forget to leave the other party appropriate feedback (when it's all resolved) to let everyone who may deal with the person in the future.

 

If the guys bank account balance was too low, it wouldn't allow Paypal to make a withdrawal.
