Circuit City.com - delivery

eh. great deal $1080 for a 50in lcd.

Im happy with my purchase, and the delivery people were very polite and help full, and it was free... the ONLY problem i have.....

is that i was repeatedly lied to as to what was going on. Only one person out of like 12 phone calls gave me an honest answer. everyone else either hung up on me, was downright rude, (i try my best to be patient and nice cause their trying to do their job) or flat out lied to me about what was going on.

heres the deal, you order online, once u get ur confirmation email u gotta call the 1800 number, select option 5 - cause there is no 'delivery option' then u gotta hope and pray the person u get speaks english fluently. I dont get it, half were american, half were indian.. wierd. the indians were VERY hard to understand and rude. then u gotta 'verify' urself by telling them ur phone number address name, email, just to be told 'delivery dept is closed' I asked if it would have been easier to just tell me that in the first place, but she didnt 'get it' ugh!.

then, come to find out, delivery dept WASNT closed! wtf?! ya so, finally i got an american who told me the truth... tv is on back order.

theres a few things lacking over at CC. first of all, if u order something and select delivery, u cant pick it up in the store.. how ghey is that? I didnt pay for delivery it was free, so im saving THEM money by picking it up. it gets better.

i called and they said yes, u can pick it up in the store. they transferred me to the store, and they said, sure no prob. so, i get out the big white truck, drive down there at 6mpg, and low and behold their like 'nope u cant do that, unless u buy another tv' WTF? it gets even better! if u buy a second tv at retail price of like $1600, and then bring it back after u get the one delivered, they nail u for a 25% restocking fee! LOL What a joke! but what really pissed me of, is first they tell me that i can pick it up in the store, i drive all the way there, and then they tell me no.

oh it gets even better. my delivered tv CAME FROM THAT STORE! ugh!

so finally, someone actually stopped lieing to me, and scheduled my delivery, but i find it quite disturbing that half those i spoke with lied to me instead of just telling me the truth, and a few even hung up on me.

so i rate cc delivery proces a 2 out of 10. delivery guys a 9 out of 10. and price, 8/10 hey it coulda been cheaper!

I sent them an email after I posted this:

Dear whom ever this concerns,

I purchased a Sony 50" LCD TV during the 6hr Black Friday special. I had to go with delivery as my only option to get the TV. This is where the problems began and the headache followed for about 5-6 days. First of all, the phone system has no 'delivery option' Just choose 5 and hope for the best. Every time I called I was asked to confirm who I was via name address phone, email. While this is a nice security touch, The fact that I had to verify all this information to them, just to be told that the delivery Dept is closed, is a bit much. Tell you the truth it was VERY annoying. Especially since I called back and was told by a different person that the delivery Dept was NOT closed! In the course of 5-6 days of attempting to get some answers on my product I purchased, I was repeatedly lied to. I was hung up on. And those who did not speak english fluently, were for the most part rude, and VERY difficult to understand. The americans I spoke with were polite, and easy to understand, but they too Lied to me. Only one person I spoke with out of Everyone was honest with me and told me the truth. I find this VERY disturbing.

Also, I foundout online that my local stores had this TV. I called and was told both by customer service reps AND THE STORE that I could pick up my tv locally instead of having it delivered, and that this was NOT a problem. So I drive all the way over to the store, just to be told that I cant do that, and that the only way to do what I was TOLD I could do, is to either cancel my order and buy a tv for $1800 + tax, or, buy ANOTHER tv for $1800 and bring it back when my tv was delivered (which wasnt scheduled since everyone lied to me) and then be charged a 25% restocking fee. First off all, delivery was free. So I would have saved CC money by me picking it up. Second of all this should be an option. After all, according to the people who delivered my tv, they said it came from the store I went to.

After 5 days, I was finally able to scheduale a delivery. the delivery people were very polite and helpful. However getting to the point of it being actually delivered was EXTREMELY annoying, and nothing but a major headache. CC needs to take a serious look at their delivery process because this is the WORST delivery process I have ever been apart of.

Oh and one more thing. Its a good thing I copied this text here cause when I hit submit, it gives a 404. Nice touch, and when you go back, this field is blank. Nice system CC has.

I always love that when Technical websites have errors. Just funny... haha...

But on the bright side at least you finally got the TV in working order and everything is fine.
