I was looking for more info on them and came across a BMW forum group buy where a lot of people bought HID kits from them. Seriously, google it and you'll see the threads.

here we go:

Update 12/22/08: We are currently shipping about 1 week behind on order date due to the enormous volume our sale pricing has generated. We are suspending most sales for the moment in order to catch up on backlog. As soon as we get caught up, you can expect to see some more relaxation on pricing. We are sorry for the delays at the holidays. We appreciate your patience. Unfortunately, we never know how many orders we will get and we attempt to ship as fast as possible. The backlog has caused a large increase in calls from customers to check their orders. This causes us to have to assign people to answer these calls, cutting our ability to ship. All of us at DDM Tuning appreciate your business and being able to give you remarkable pricing. We apologize for the delays. We are working hard to keep people on the assembly line and have been air freighting in more goods to fill orders. We look forward to continuing to serve you with better pricing in 2009.

I'd cancel the order.
No (or poor) customer service = no customers.

You don't ride do you? Maximum light output is needed for night riding. I like seeing the massive due I'm about to descend at a ridiculous amount of speed.

The lighting is ok but not enough sometimes. An 35 watt HID kit will not overload the stator. I think the stock lights pull a bit more wattage.

will 55Watt HID kits work alright in a ranger? I know this is the same power as stock incandescent bulbs, but what about the heat?

With a 55 watt I would run the optional wire kit that DDM offers. It supplies direct power from the battery so you don't get that flickering you sometimes see with HID kits.

Their site says it generates extra heat, and that makes sense. I just don't want to damage my light housings trying to optimize my already very bright headlights and foglights..

Hmmm. Well don't risk it since I'm sure new housings are hella expensive.

I have a free extra pair of foglights never used down in my basement, and I have my stock lights (the all chrome ones) - I havent figured out what I want to do with them yet. My next mod is going to be taking apart my corners to make them loaded with component LED's so they work without the reflectors. Kinda like Cadillac tail lights.
