the main reason i still have Windows based machines is because of running AutoCAD....from what I understand, Mac's don't like to run it all that great/fast....
Theres a certain niche for everything. For servers, Straight up SPARC's. For a business enviornment or mechanical design/games, any windows based machine. For everything else theres a Mac.

Meh... I've never dealt with any sort of customer service because quite frankly, I just fix all my problems myself. Seems much easier to just build your own PC and take care of it yourself, as long as you have the knowledge.
I mean hell, my computer at home is pushing 4 years old now and it can keep up with my 1 year old work laptop just fine (I know big differences between laptops and desktops but just making a point). To me, its just a matter of maintaining the computer to keep it running well, just like the truck.

I bought a Sony VAIO desktop about 5 years ago, and still have it. 60GB HD, 1.6Ghz P4 processor, etc etc. Nothing has been upgraded. It was the top of the line 5 years ago, and laptop technology is JUST catching the processor speed. I did pay a little more for the HIGHLY regarded name brand (Just like Apple in this case), but I've never had a problem with it that wasn't caused inadvertantly by me (Virus, bad file download, etc).
You get what you pay for.
