Icon2 No Ad, just a little commentary......

We build things certain ways, OK, we build things MY way......I come from a varied background and have had several distinctly different chapters in my life but the one thing that stands out through it all is, there is ALWAYS room for improvement and you can ALWAYS do better. We strive to do things better everyday and when jobs are going to other countries because someone can do something for less you need to stand back and think, what can I personally do to stop that from happening.

Think Quality in everything you do, don't ever stop at just good enough. Don't buy the junk sold in the big box stores, pay a little more for something made better and made to last. And when you buy something and they offer an extended wharantee ask them what happened to companies being proud of what they made, back when you didn't need an extended wharantee?

This country is facing the biggest problem it has ever faced in offshore competition and you do not want to be batting for the other side, buy American made products, made by people just like you! Keep the manufacturing base we have, when it is gone do you think Chinas products will still be inexpensive? I don't care who's Diff Cover you buy, just buy one made in the US! All of our jobs will ultimately depend on it.......And if you don't like what I say you need to step back and think on it......

4x4 is just about as American as you can get, lets keep it that way.

I'm as pro-buy-American as anyone else -- and I still had to get Harbor Freight junk to finish my SAS because of money woes.

But you're very right in you general thrust. I'm in agreement.

Learn to spell "warranty" however, lol...

LMAO.....

If you use FF, it has the spell check in it..........words that are misspelled are underlined in RED, a quick left click of the mouse and a proper spelling of the word is found.....no more embarrassing moments. Just make sure you select the RIGHT spelling of the word......or just go back to 4th grade. LOL

Thanks Dan! It kills me these days that things like craftsman tools are even made overseas now. I agree with Gil though... most of the wheelers I know are big about American-made equipment, and I am too!

An update.....

Sorry I misspelled a word, I usually trust my education to carry me through.....

In both May and June we had greater than 10% increases in steel prices and all commodity prices in general went way up. Well over the figures the fed releases in the wholesale price indexes, last month they even said there was no measurable food inflation year over year! I don't think these guys do much grocery shopping for themselves........

On the first of July we had a breakthrough, steel only went up 9% month over month! What a relief

In theory, a great idea. I no longer support Wally World, but a company that makes hundreds of millions of dollars a year isn't going to go broke unless everyone stops going there. You know that a distant 2nd of imported goods is Home Depot?? What happens when one of your t.v.'s break?? RCA and Zenith are not American and I bet very few people still have those. BIC has their North American headquarters in Massachusetts, but is a French company. How many uses that brand of pens or razors?? What brand cell-phone do you guys own? Nokia is Finnish, and in fact their number 1 export. It is harder and harder to buy American made and owned. I didn't know Craftsman was foreign made now. Besides the American flag, is their anything that isn't made overseas?? Actually, their are only a couple companies left -- John Deere, Harley Davidson -- Philip Morris, which owns the brand Marlboro is closing a facility in Va. because tobacco is taboo, and they are now going to import a majority of tobacco. That leaves only their second facility in North Carolina I believe. How many farmers are going to lose their jobs, but that's OK because tobacco kills, right??
