Well as alot of you know, i have BEEN waiting for my apten flasher to get in...
I called apten today. and it should be here today "Friday"
but its raining like a ****
I ordered the Apten to the mods i currently have on my truck
And to the octane of 89..."Gas Prices"
Well, gas prices have gone down alittle, and i figured, bah, what the hell, ill go for the 92-93
So i think, hmm, wonder if Doug can do it for me..
So i send an email his way...
Asking , how much for a re-burn, to set mine too 93 octane...
Heres how it went...
Hey Leo,
The only thing I ask is after you get the new programming from me and install it in your truck if you feel a true performance gain or difference that you say you got it from me. If not then just let me know and If you'll let me I'll redo it until you like it. I will leave the Apten programming on the flasher for you to compare the other two programs to, then if you definatly can tell a difference then when ever you get a chance you can return it to me and I'll add one more program to it as well.

And of course, he seems very confident, and i dont mind being the test person to prove it...

well, i got my flasher back today...
1st email
Hey Leo,
I got it today and have you ready to go. I've created three programs that you should be happy with. The first is an 87 Octane program written for mild performance with firm shifts and improved power. The second is the 93 Octane program, written for increased performance and shift improvement. Now since you told me it was ok to eliminate the Apten tune I made you a third program, one of my most creative yet,hhehee.. Make sure you got 93 in it for this one as its power is more aimed toward what the SOHC likes, 3000 rpms and up. Also the shifting is even firmer in that I didn't mess with the pressures but rather the clutch on/off time between shifts. This could be called a track tune of sorts, you should like this one as I'd like some input back on it if you will.
As with everything I do if you don't like something or something isn't right for you then just contact me and I'll make it right. I'll send it back out to you tomorrow so if anything I've said so far isn't to your details then just let me know and I'll make some more changes.

I suggest everyone go through him if you want good service and an awesome product..
I have no clue as to how many people he has done before, but im happy to say i went through him
Right when i got home from work, i saw the package sitting on the table, opened it, went outside to the truck, and installed...
I automatically installed his last program he mentioned,93 octane was in the truck, and i took it for a test drive,
AND THE RESULTS ARE WOW!
The RPM's scream from 3,000 to 6,100 rpm, and they keep flying, low end has improved a bit but the SOHC loves the 3 grand and higher rpm's, i love it...
sad to say, but a big difference from the Apten program, i drove it around a bit, and noticed a nice differnece, really nice, im gonna have to give coy a ride again so he can feel the difference....

I might consider one for preformance and recalibrating the speedo and gears and auto shiftpoints and stuff!! Also depending of the price of the flasher or the programmer!!

Just as a friend on the phone, hes given me more insight into how to set things up. He knows what works and what doesnt. He's done a LOT with ranger trucks.. everything from a blown 4.0 to a juiced one. Hes playing with a 3.0 whipple setup now and having a lot of fun.
I was having fuel system issues.. his very first suggestion cured ALL my issues I was having and I never grenaded another manifold for as long as I ran it.
Good man, honest and reliable!
