Icon5 ranger parts WTF!!!!

why is it that everytime we open up a 4x4 magazine or catalog there are never any rangers in them? Hardly anybody makes after market parts for them and if they doo its crazy expensive. I think its BS that if you drive a yota or nissan you can find anything you want....lift kits, bumpers. performance, etc. anyone else feel this way??? or am i just an ***?

Because we don't make up anywhere near the off-road market. Because Yota's (especially older ones) came from the factory much more trail ready then Rangers (i.e. much less upgrades needed to make it strong). .

It's all about demand and quite frankly building off-road Rangers is NOT a high demand industry. They have always been and forever will be much more focused on the Fleet truck business model. That's what made Ford money. Not souped up Rangers.

^ Exactly! While it seems that there are tons of Ranger enthusiasts out there when you think of this site it really isn't that way. I don't know ANYONE with a modded Ranger besides who is on this site.

95% of the rangers I see around are bone stock, and if they have anything done to them its something stupid like a brush guard or a roll bar.

^^^ I about cream my pants when I see a BLed one running around on 33s. I think I've seen maybe 5 running around here. I get way too excited, it's kinda sad lol.

And you gotta remember I have Summit Racing up the street, so you would think I would see more.

Truckfest on the 17th, 18th :))))

Most people who own a ranger, unfortunately, own it because it's a work/economy vehicle. I saw a SAS ranger once and almost crashed I was so excited.

Its funny you say that.....i was the only "modded" Ranger in my city for a while, and lately I have seen the odd BLed Rangers kicking around, but it's so rare that when I drive pass, they wave. My girl riding shotgun was like; "do you know that guy?", ahhh no lol, "well he waved at you, he must like your truck." I reply; were a small cool gang hahaha. Actually gave a guy who had his rig on 33's at a gas station I fill up at a RF sticker, just cause.

HAHA I was at work and I glance out the window at the gas station across the street, there was a vermillion red 98-00 BL'ed on 33s filling up. Sounded good when he pulled away. I left a fog mark on the window watching it lmao.

I get the wave occasionally as well.

Thats just it. they look bad *** when done right and i believe one could go wheel to wheel with any taco or jeep! i guess its mainly true suspension lift kit options i have the biggest problem with. most lifted trucks around here are 2wd, and its sad cause their all lifted. But they do still look good.

wheel to wheel with a taco or jeep for either twice the money or twice the work. Look I love the ol' Ford, but getting them off-road ready is a pain compared to Jeeps or Tacos.

If I see a modded ranger on the side of the road or in a parking lot I will leave an r/f sticker under their wiper

um.... I wouldn't go that far.... Toyota trucks are IFS from 1987 up. The only thing they have over the Ranger is the Transfer case is stupid low geared. If you want to crazy ****, you're going to spend a ton of money on any of them. I'll put my Explorer against any Jeep or Toyota, and i only paid 3300 bucks for it.....

Plus, its kinda cool being out there rocking the **** out of your rig and all the sudden someone goes, "Wait.... Is that a freaking Ranger??" I just smile and say, "What's left of it "

There are way more parts for toyotas and jeeps though. I think that is what he was getting at.

They also are about double the price...

Especially if the Toyota already has the SAS done. Holy geez...

If the Jeep is lifted and has a 4.0, top of the market pricing.

Look at it this way...every other model out there has lots of goodies for their trucks... if we want our rangers to be unique, we have to spend time, money effort and ingenuity to make it happen. Just shows we love our trucks more =P

Us ranger owners are a unique breed for sure...
We're determined and creative because we have to be if we want anything other than boring old stock trucks
