EBC/PerfectBrakes.com

On Tuesday I placed an order for some EBC Ultimax BlackDash USR Slotted Rotors and EBC Ultimax brake pads from Perfect Brakes and I got them yesterday. That is very fast shipping for free. Perfect brakes ships for free if you spend more than $150.

I got the slotted rotors because I felt that their slotted and dimpled, not drilled, rotors were overkill for the street. I also chose their cheapest pad because they are rated better than the stock pad. They do offer low dust sports pads along with full race pads.

I will probably throw these on this weekend and I will comment on the braking improvement later.

Maybe. It doesn't take much to put rotors on.

How is the braking improvement? Are there pedal pressure differences at normal braking?

They don't stay black. That is just a coating to keep them from rusting.

Big braking improvement. Pedal pressure is the same as stock. This setup does feel a big grabby but I'll get used to it. I will do a 60 to 0 one of these days. Too bad I didn't do a before and after.

fddriver02, do you have any pics of the wheels & tires mounted with the new brake setup? How are the black rotors holding up?

EBC brale review

I also bought the EBC slotted rotors a few weeks ago, although I ordered them from AutoAnything.com because they had them on sale for 175.99 and free shipping. This may not be the best deal but EBC was the only place I could find the 12” rotors for the Ranger Edge 4X4. They are sooo much better than my stock rotors were, now the only question is how long will they last? I have that them for about 2000 miles and they have been great, a lot more bite than the stock pads or rotor, and much better wet performance, not near as spongy as stock pads when wet. I chose the EBC green stuff pads, don’t have any problems with them either, the brakes are louder than stock but this is by no means bad, just saying that I can hear them on hard braking, not squealing just louder than stock. The black coating will wear off ware the pad rides in a very short time (2 min), but the rest stays black and non-rusty.
