Tonneau Covers
 

Hello, I am new to this forum and just wanted to ask a question. I know that there are several types of tonneau covers but which one is recommend most of all. Please let me know because I need one for my 1999 Ford Ranger XLT. If you have one for sale e-mail me at Darkshadow113@yahoo.com :puppy_dog

Well soft are more functional...but I think hard look better.....I think I might get a soft one that is snapless, very sleek....lol

well i just ordered my Snuglid SL cover and it should be in any day. this is probably the top-of-the-line cover in regards to hard covers. snugtop also has a regular one that is a couple hundred cheaper

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago from JC Whitley- EZ Roll TONNEAU COVER BY BESTOP for 285. About 30 minutes install. It is a soft cover but rolls up when you need to use the bed. I agree that the hard ones look better but the soft ones are more functional. I am very pleased at the quality and price.

I just put a BafFlip 2G on my truck. Nice fit, looks great and easy to remove if you ever need to. Great tonneau and a discounted price on E-bay. I got 20% off.

Take a look at the dates and times so threads that aren't active stay dead and we don't have to double tap them to keep them there.

Good point hamricksj, and I am just one such new member, and ironically, a new member who is waiting to take delivery of his new TruXedo TruXport soft cover. One came in last week, but it was for a fleetside, not a flareside like mine. They reordered, and I was trying to felt what someone else's experience might have been with this cover. While I can relate regarding the comment that this is an old thread, it showed up on my first page about tonneau covers, hence my response here.

Even if the thread is very old, if its all relative to the same topic, more info is available in one place. I would like to have a tonneau cover on my truck. It makes sense to me to only want to view as few threads as possible to get information about different brands. I do agree that dragging up old threads isn't always the best practice. I think its funny when someone creates a new post and people say use the search feature. Then when they reply to an old thread they are told to make a new thread.

We tell newbs to use the search feature because they're asking questions that have been answered in other threads. Answering someone's question that was asked 10 years ago is totally different. No need to post something to a thread so old, especially if the question was answered in the thread.

I've been using car and truck forums for over 15 years. I think contributing valid info to an old post is better than creating a new one. Instead of having to find and read various different threads about the topic being discussed. The info is all there to scroll through. It really does depend on what the thread is about though as to whether or not it should be added to or not. Its really no different than talking to a group of friends at dinner and someone mentioning an old project and then everyone talks about it for the rest of the meal. I just don't see what is so bad about it.
