I'm getting a new set of BFG A/Ts in the next few days, but I can't decide which size. I think I've decided to stick with my factory 16" wheels, but should I go with 265/70R16s (31x10.5) or 265/75R16s (32x10.5). The 70s have a D load rating and the 75s have an E rating. Pros and Cons to each?

Any photos for comparison would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

The 75's look better, but the E load rating doesn't make the ride very good.

Yeah I'd go with the 75's too, that's what I got and they fill the finder well very well. Yeah E rating would be a bumpy ride for sure. I got C's on mine they ride smoothly for a 4X4 truck.

 

I disagree when I had my 75 bfgs on the truck as long as they are balanced good they ride very smooth and were comfortable to me.

The last set of tires I had were 8-ply load range D and comparatively they rode much better than the 10-ply load range E BFG. The 75 series BFG's were far from bad though, they just don't offer the same ride as a tire with a more appropriate load rating.

 

go the 75s. I bought the 70s and have been kickin myself ever sine then.

Thanks guys! Yeah it takes a little extra work to keep the Black looking good, but I bought it 1 1/2 years ago with 21k miles and its still looking good with almost 60k on it. I'll post more pics when I get my BFGs on it.

I need to get my tires in the next couple days in order to get the $60 BFG rebate. I don't know why, but i'm leaning toward the 265/70s. I guess I'm just worried about the higher load rating of the 265/75s and the loss of power and gas mileage of the larger tires. Any last minute thoughts before I pull the trigger???

 

It is so close in sizing that it isnt going to make any difference. Ive run my 265/75-16's for 2 years now and there hasnt been any issues

I had 70's and always wished I would of gone 75's. Sure the 70's looked ok, but the 75's would of been perfect.
